Tears UNC Tears

Glad to see this trash program submerged in the mud....that U down was 80% these bums. THEY AINT JUST LOSING, THEY'RE GETTING BOOMED EACH LOSS.
Absolutely. When I think of that upside U crap, I totally think of those jamokes.

I hope we steamroll them almost more than anybody besides Ohio St or Indiana in the playoffs.

Wonder how Kenton Dopson is enjoying his experience so far? That has to be the dumbest de-commit / flip I have seen in a minute.
he was a reclassify back up to his grade and got a bag to go there similar to how fsu got kids in this cycle... We didnt match on the reclass as much as UNC did. So kid is betting on himself. Had we like him as a reclass similar like Sears he would be here i think.

I think they are all letting Bill off the hook way too easily. I’m not going to engage in the ‘who deserves more credit, Brady or Belichik’ debate because I don’t have a clue about that.
But I ithnk it is pretty obvious that Belichik is a terrible college coach. But it’s as though he is so respected for his NFL work that even Feldman won’t come out and say it. Instead they make it all about Lombardi being terrible. Well whomever hires an idiot is the bigger idiot.

Well i think Bruce and others are trusting what they’ve been told; and they’ve told Lombardi is the woat and BB is still a good coach. One of the ways i feel like i know this to be true is the UNC defense was actually pretty solid all things considered; and showed improvement as the year went along.

Coaching football is still coaching football. I don’t think one year can tell us if he is terrible or not; and 4-8 is the exact same record Butch Davis had year 1 at North Carolina; and he had 15 years of previous familiarity with college football.

I also felt they overstated the importance of flashy portal signees across CFB. I’m sure Lombardi really is as awful and as arrogant as they say; but if the name of the game is talent, he did his job because the team is more talented than they were before. The defensive talent they brought in is legit, they flipped kids from big name programs, they brought back their freshman RB who averaged 5.5 ypc, they kept their all-acc DE, and they signed a top ten qb and WR.

One of the main reasons the portal cycle was different this past year than previous seasons was because there was no post-spring portal; which would’ve changed the amount of players they got. They still took 20 portal players so they didn’t really completely avoid it. But every team had less available to them than the prior seasons.

Most programs still have HS recruiting as their foundation; and transfer portal ratings are a crapshoot anyways. Last year, LSU had the best portal class (on paper), FSU was 5th and UNC was 9th. Wisconsin and South Carolina were 13th and 15th respectively and they both went 4-8 just like UNC. Auburn and Kentucky were eighth and tenth respectively and they both fired their head coaches.

The portal rankings are also insufficient insomuch as it doesn’t tell you what’s going out the door. Sometimes it’s addition by subtraction; other times, in the case of LSU, it was a player misused like CJ Daniels.

Totally get all that, and if he had ended up at a good program I could even get behind the kid, but going to that dumpster fire is DUMB. No ill will towards the kid, but his handlers steered him way wrong imo.

If Lombardi is as bad a perosn as Feldman and others feel very strongly that he is, then how does Bill not see it? You see that is my real problem.
The fault of a bad hire is not on the person hired, but on the person doing the hiring. Especially when they knew each other.
Belichik deserves all the blame for the bad hire.
Now you can make the same argument for Mario and Gattis and Steele, except that Mario had not previously worked with them.

Really interesting article from a writer who profiled Lombardi right after BB took the job. Talks about how they made a grave mistake preferring Ryan Browne over Chandler Morris — Browne would end up transferring back to Purdue after spending a spring with UNC — as well as just overall incompetence by Lombardi.

I think it’s understated and underreported how much power agents have gained in the NIL era. Anyways, Lombardi basically ****ed all of them off with his arrogance and lack of understanding of the current NIL marketplace which led to them doing terribly in the spring portal.

In UNC's second transfer portal go-around last spring, Lombardi and Co. could be all over the place in their offers. Player agents disliked dealing with Lombardi because of perceived arrogance and a misunderstanding of the marketplace. A player might have a $800,000 offer elsewhere and Lombardi would offer $350,000 and expect the player to take that big a discount to play for Belichick.

"I don't mean to pray on his downfall or anything but the guy just does a ****** job and doesn't deserve the title," says a NIL agent who has had to negotiate with Lombardi. "Lombardi is hurting that program."

Lmao. Ofc the Browns hired this guy.

Pretty interesting that he got fired right before New England’s last Super Bowl win too. Kraft must’ve been tired of all his bull****. BB paid for his ring cuz he wasn’t going to get one lol.

Pulled directly from the article:

Lombardi has touted UNC as the NFL's "33rd team,"

Hey Lombardi. Disfruta una torta hecho de mierda.

Which again makes no sense for an NFL guy to not understand how to deal with agents.
It all begs the question of why Bill wanted him. I guess loyalty and trust are that important to some people.

I’d rather surround myself with talented people.

That QB Marquise Williams was one of the first to throw down the U that I remember. He was mad cause he grew up a UM fan and we chose another jag besides him, dude was trash and took advantage of a dog **** ACC. This program is top 5 I dont like with those baby powder uniforms.
