UNC hires Mack Brown

Johnathan Vilma talks circles around Mack Brown in terms of strategy and football knowledge every time I catch those two on TV. You learn absolutely nothing when he opens his mouth. Why tf do these has-beens keep getting jobs in coaching?

Does anyone really see this as a feel good story 5 years from now.
I wonder what the mindset on the UNC boards feel about this hire

Obviously this hire has been quietly in the works for a while and attempting to satisfy some of the bigger older boosters but in direct opposition to the younger fans who were hoping for a Satterfifeld type coach. UNC is also getting their face pushed in by NCState with recruiting in the state.

This will not end well for UNC.

Maybe an agreement of 1-2 seasons and see how it goes?

Wasn't that the deal at Baylor once Briles was removed?

Couldn't agree more! The game passed Mack by a very long time ago... Id reckon sometime around the Natty Game and he's been a "CEO" ever since...

Dude is the definition of the "good ole boy" network that exists in coaching

They were mentioning he might go after gene chizick for his dcooridnator.

Another note, manny Diaz was fired by Mack brown and you never see a coach go back to a coach who fired him so luke Campbell rumor was bullsh*t
Didn't he say Manny would be the head coach though? Still bull**** imo but more believable.

I laffd soon as I read that dumb shxt from Luke. Why would he go to a fb program thats guaranteed going to be a middle of the pack or below team at best and the coaching staff would still get fired for not winning??

Miami is going to cut that check for him and he has all the resources needed to thrive. Diaz has never fielded a #1 ranked defense in his career until he got to Miami.

so He needs Miami just as much as we need him.not to mention he’s a cultural fit at Miami He came up with the Turnover Chain lol his *** ain’t going nowhere.
I agree with a lot of this. Manny's defense really needs Miami type athletes to work. Look how hit and miss he was at previous stops. If he was going to try to run this scheme at UNC, for example, they'd be giving up big plays by the bucketful.
