UNC hires Mack Brown

Johnathan Vilma talks circles around Mack Brown in terms of strategy and football knowledge every time I catch those two on TV. You learn absolutely nothing when he opens his mouth. Why tf do these has-beens keep getting jobs in coaching?

That good ole boy network is strong and pockets run deep.

Doubt Kingsbury ends up at UNC. Maybe. But think he goes somewhere that A) pays him more and B) has a top coach and winning program now that he could potentially learn from and set himself up for another HC opportunity.

Wouldn't be shocked in the least if he ends up at Bama with Saban.

M. Brown is what Pastor should be, a CEO, nothing more, nothing less. Collect $$$ from booster, kiss *** and let your O and D Coordinators do their jobs.

Throw out any preconceived notions about Brown as a coach- who thinks it's a good idea to hire someone that under a best case scenario has your program back to respectability as he turns 70?

Brown might be worthy of a job somewhere but you don't bring him in to rebuild a program.

Brown was similar to Coker in a lot of respects. After that natty loss to Bama in '09, he let his program have a country club atmosphere. After being on ESPN for years and trying to go back to the college game that has changed significantly since he coached last, I don't see how he succeeds.

Agreed. At absolutely best I think he hires some decent coordinators and MAYBE gets them sniffing 8-9 wins max again. I can't see a guy that effed up recruiting at Texas on his way out the door having success at a basketball school in this day and age.
