UM's marketing needs to be fired too

It's actually really good marketing. They've fooled a significant contingent of our fanbase into believing that this staff is actually competent.

The last two guys were young, energetic guys who bolted at first opportunity for bigger athletic departments.

Same b.s. is happening at Michigan and the AD is taking a lot of abuse for not throwing Brady Hoke under the bus. They had petitions demanding his resignation after the Morris incident. Nobody would give a rats if Michigan was winning. This will all play out at Michigan as Hoke is a dead man walking.

Got it, you don't like James because he won't throw Golden under the bus and he isn't all in with a new football stadium. The next priority is getting an indoor practice facility on campus.

BTW, here is what Jeremy Foley said about Will Muschamp last week after that embarrassing home loss against Missouri. “At the beginning of the season we said we would evaluate the season as it plays out,” Foley said, per GatorZone.com. “We will continue to do so. Our sole focus right now is supporting our coaching staff and players as they prepare for Georgia.”

Read slower.

I said I would have chosen the younger more energetic guy (Freet over James). Not I need a younger guy. That is where it ends. The last 2 ADs were not good either, not that it matters.

As for James, it's not just the stadium, lack of plan and his responses on the stadium...

1. It is the Morris Extension

2. It is the PSU crap

3. Not forcing Golden's Hand with his DC and Staff

As for Foley, he has accomplished something and we know he will do what it takes. This is why your argument is a IRRELEVANT. He can say Muschamp is the man and he will be here for the next 5000 years but behind the scenes (BASED ON TRACK RECORD) he will cut ties and make the decision. Foley can do whatever because he has accomplished a lot.

James, has said similar comments but hasn't accomplished anything. I don't trust him and I don't see why I should either based on 1-3 above.

DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

It isn't just the comments (I will keep coach X), it is the track record that people trust. I don't trust James, but you do and that is your call.

I hate it when marketers use statistics to distort reality. Who do they think they are fooling? What's next "we have a top 15 defense"? Celebrate the players great but don't give us this BS. View attachment 26816

I guess the OP would prefer the campaign about not having to go to more than 2 games. Geez. Some of you are grasping at every straw- even when it makes no sense.

Is 12-1 really something to brag about?

Thank you. You get it. Sorry.. been away... these other replies crack me up.. For those idiots who think this is good marketing, let me share a marketing lesson. Marketing is a discipline that, when done well, captures the mindset of a target audience and creates long term sustainable value. Listing a stat that sounds good but hides the underlying reality of the brand is not only irresponsible but ineffective. It may capture some uneducated few (like some of the idiotic repliers here), but it ridicules your true base. It's analogous to Sears saying they are the biggest retailer in the 100ft square area where they compete. May be literally true but everyone knows they suck.

Instead of calling out stupid stats that say that we're playing so well... they should celebrate the hard work of the players. Talk about Perryman and Duke and Kaaya.. they are good talents who are working their tails off in the midst of a bad system. But, don't try to tell us we're 12-1 at home as if that really matters when we're unranked and can't win the big games that REALLY matter, whether it's at home or away.

I'll give you credit for using the word "analogous", but this is kind of like going out after a hurricane and bytching because someone's car is on your lawn.

This is what got you?

They lost me on the whole #RENEWED bull****. I had one foot off the train on "Full Speed Ahead" campaign last year.

Our entire marketing directive is a magician's prestige. Obfuscate, deceive and re-direct so the masses don't realize they're being had.

I actually think Marketing is the one area we're elite. If there were some actual substance behind it, it wouldn't be so difficult to deal with. They're doing a good job of branding. It just so happens that when you sell, sell, sell and don't produce, it's going to rub many the wrong way. That's not on Marketing/Branding.

Who honestly gives a **** about this? This is whinning just for the sake of whinning.

hey OP

1. we have a home game coming up
2. the "Marketing" is not "Reaching" they are stating that in the last 13 home games we only lost 1 and considering we have a big ACC game coming up at "HOME" this graphic makes sense
3. you are actually doing the same thing you accuse UM marketing of doing.

Marketing for Miami Hurricanes sports events has to be one of the most difficult jobs out there. Or any Miami sports team, college or pro for that matter.
