UM selling 2001 Championship Rings

Old Person Porst Incoming....

I have an 89 championship season ring. It's not "real". It's a replica. It is heavy. It sits in my safe. I never wear it unless it is for a laugh, then it goes right back into my safe. As I'm typing this, I'm wondering why I even keep it in my safe. 🤔

Anyway, I don't get this giveaway trinket. I'm not looking for an explanation or reasoning why - I'm sure there are plenty of people who get erect nipples over replica sports jewelry, I'm just not one of them. My reasoning is that I didn't play on the team and therefore am undeserving of a ring. I'm just not into stolen valor. I certainly wouldn't want to run into Mike Sullivan or Mark Caesar while wearing it because I wouldn't have a good answer for them as to why I was wearing it.

I need my Geritol.

I’m not from here just been here for 40+ years.From Key West originally.

Actually I come from a family of Red Sox fans cause my Dad’s family is from Mass.but Mickey Mantle was always my favorite player so that’s how I went against the house and became a Yankee fan.

But I am a Celtic and Bruin fan so I wasn’t totally against the family…lol

Man and I thought I was old...

I kid... well, not really, but I don't want to be completely disrespectful! Mantle was certainly a legend. One of my best friends is from Key West and taught me the difference between a Yankee and a Damm Yankee. The Yankee comes down to the South to visit then leaves, but the Damm Yankee visits and stays.
