UM offers 2022 CB Jaheim Singletary

Here's the Dawg slant to the situation:

Georgia has been working to flip one of the top prospects in the country. The Dawgs got one step closer to that goal as Jacksonville (Fla.) Robert E. Lee five-star cornerback Jaheim Singletary announced that he has backed off a verbal commitment to Ohio State. Singletary took an official visit to Georgia on June 18.

Considered the nation's No. 14 overall prospect, No. 5 cornerback, and No. 3 overall recruit in Florida by the industry-generated 247Sports Composite, Singletary is coming off an unofficial visit to Miami and the Hurricanes are considered Georgia's top competition at this time.

Both programs have staff members who recruited Singletary for the past three years, including while at South Carolina, in Miami defensive backs coach Travaris Robinson and Georgia defensive analyst Will Muschamp. Georgia has one cornerback committed in Kennesaw (Ga.) North Cobb four-star Marquis Groves-Killebrew and it is hoping to get Bainbridge (Ga.) four-star Deyon Bouie back on the commitment list as well.

Over the past three seasons, Singletary has totaled 20 pass break ups and 10 interceptions, six of which came during a breakout freshman campaign. Last fall, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound Singletary was named to the MaxPreps All-Florida team after he played both offense and defense for a Lee squad that went 6-2 and made second round of Sunshine State's 6A state playoffs. God i want to be able to post over there... why are they taking about their DB history lol...

Of he doesnt want to be in the playoffs...

Amateur athletic conference lol... see more of that same old SEC arrogance like Bama hasnt carried that entire conference the last 10 years

Contenders and teams with real depth carry 8+ CB's on a bad day. We just aren't use to having real depth.

Look at all position hauls through a 2 year window. 5 CB's (counting Curtis) in 2 years is absolutely normal. Bring them all in, and if one leaves due to being unhappy from not cutting it then that's the definition of competition and what we ultimately want and need, right?

This times 1000. We’ve become so accustomed to running with an understaffed CB room that fans are alarmed at the possibility of having 8-9 CB’s on scholarship
 
In CFB today you need at least 4 starting caliber CBs every year especially with transfers and leaving fkr thr draft and that's not even considering how much most schools are about throwing it all over. **** OSU is as much of a passing team as anybody and they've always been ground and pound so that's how you win with passing games so we need all the CBs we can get

It's not only carried it, but Saban has become so dominant he's hollowed out most of the SEC. The top recruits go to Alabama, making it harder (and more costly for the boosters) to try to catch up. The fanbases revolt with each year of Saban dominance, which causes schools to hire new coaches. Each coaching regime change hurts that year's recruiting, setting the program back. And Alabama pulls further ahead, with each passing year.

It's actually pretty similar to what has gone on in the AFC East from 2001-2020 with Belichick and the Patriots.
