Not taking a shot at you here bruh. But you (everyone)needs to understand the landscape. If our main areas to target are going to be Florida based alot of kids in south Florida(really anywhere in florida except panhandle/ north Florida) has under developed kids. Be it nutrition be it genetics, whatever. But not many are built that big here. That's those corn bread kids that have monsters for parents and were raised on cattle they killed and **** that we can find big kids like that on average. I agree I'd like some space eaters on the roster that are actually aware of their natural size and can play within it. But that's real rare to find. Also our scheme isnt designed for kids like that so much. Were all about twitchy kids that can move well. Just think, until recently we told nesta we wanted him playing at 285.... a kid who was 320 coming out of high school.
I would disagree slightly regarding the part that Florida doesn't big DT's (300+lbs), we do produce a few high quality ones that are athletic as well. The issue is these kids are 9 out 10 times about that bag life, which Miami can't play/pay. This year we offered Timothy Smith (Sebastian River), Manny Roger's ( Jensen Beach), and Jalen Carter( Apopka) all of whom are north of 300lbs an are uber athletic but they are all about that bag life.

An without a marquee DL coach to sway recruits, UM will have to go the developmental route with DT recruiting projacting how a undersized player will hopefully develop . DE recruiting is another matter entirely, which Florida produces in droves.
Luckily the 2020 season for DT is loaded an the usual DT Bagman schools have filled their DT class spots, barring a recruiting board shift or individual committed recruit red flag popping up Clemson, Bama, and UGA are full at DT with 3 each. Hence the waiting game for being played with Miami having to wait on our top Target at DT whom in turn is waiting to hear if he will get that offer he can't refuse # gottofeedthefam. So Miami could in the end land a quality big DT by default through the waiting game. But as insurance we are seeing all these developmental offers go out to DT's now.
Go Canes
