UM offers 2020 DT James Ash

Looks strong and fairly quick. Not quite as fast off the ball as Willis or Silvera. Still quality. Needs some moves, kid just snow plows through people. Love how they used him as a wide receiver at times.

Wait what? WR?

No offense to Tee...Because he's liked this kid a ton. But it will be interesting to see if this is commitable (if the did does like UM, I obviously have no idea)

I mean are we going to take this kid or Jershawn Newton with Elijah Roberts still on the board? Just a thought.

I also don't think Riggins is untouchable in this class not having played much the last 2 seasons.

I wouldn't say Elijah Roberts or Jerzhan Newton are on a higher level than this kid. Paradise camp is coming up, so they will have a pretty good idea of who they really want before summer is over.

Another 6’3+ and less than 300 pound dt
Not taking a shot at you here bruh. But you (everyone)needs to understand the landscape. If our main areas to target are going to be Florida based alot of kids in south Florida(really anywhere in florida except panhandle/ north Florida) has under developed kids. Be it nutrition be it genetics, whatever. But not many are built that big here. That's those corn bread kids that have monsters for parents and were raised on cattle they killed and **** that we can find big kids like that on average. I agree I'd like some space eaters on the roster that are actually aware of their natural size and can play within it. But that's real rare to find. Also our scheme isnt designed for kids like that so much. Were all about twitchy kids that can move well. Just think, until recently we told nesta we wanted him playing at 285.... a kid who was 320 coming out of high school.

Exactly u dont even need a giant guy to plug the middle. The best dt in the NFL Aaron donald is 6 foot. The game is changing. Who cares as long as they get to the ball

I understand wanting twitchy kids, but why so light? We get destroyed against power teams that run up the middle. I like the way Clemson builds their DL with twitch and size to stop the run.

That has nothing to do with the kids we have. Has everything to do with the system we employ & in particular what happens when teams commit to the run. We attack outside the box far more often than we do in the gap. It was always an issue with the system manny employed & initially his inability to adapt during the game. He got far better with that as the season progressed but it is what it is. It's also a bi product of running so many stunts. Well be okay regardless.

Understood. Hopefully, we've figured out how to be dominant against the run when we play top tier teams. Tired of inside run attacks being our kryptonite.

Light? This kid is (listed at) 6'3 280 right now, hasn't finished his JR year of H.S. With normal growth over the next 2.5 years, he should easily be over 300 lbs his second year of college. That's plenty big.

I was referring to Nesta being asked to get down to 285

nothing wrong with being 285 at the college level, u act like we have a whole bunch of 285lbs guys. Nesta will be our only DT at 285lb and i'm sure being a lighter will do wonders for him and he can put on some real weight when needed.
