UM (Michigan) in big trouble ?

Its like the bag system, everyone knows inside the University that bags are being handed out. Its not a private pot that no one knows of. Or Bountygate by the Saints, where it started with only Gregg Williams and then it came out that absolutely everyone in that organization knew about it and just ignored it.

All of these...wonderful posters...who keep arguing about how "minimal" this is, and how everybody does it, and how there is no "proof" that Harbaugh knew...or that it can't be tied to "higher ups" at the University...

This is how the ****** system is perpetuated year-over-year. Nobody wants to enforce the rules out of fear. Everyone wants to play amateur defense attorney for a day, or longer.

For a long time, we had a system with more bite. Did you know OR SHOULD HAVE KNOWN? Can we hit you with LACK OF INSTITUTIONAL CONTROL? That's what has been going on at Michigan, it is a system where the head coach and others MUST have known. Because no lo-level grunt was going to invent this on his own without a tacit buy-in from the head coach. No guy making $50K per year before federal and state income taxes is going to pay a $15K travel and tickets budget out-of-pocket. Nobody writes a 500 page manifesto if he doesn't think his head coach will read it and be impressed by it.

Harbaugh knew. Is there a smoking gun proving Harbaugh knew? The leaks certainly indicate that this may be the case. And regardless of that, if you have all the other evidence that the single most sophisticated sign-stealing system was constructed on YOUR WATCH (and "without your knowledge"), then you should be fired anyhow.

The Michigan AD knew. When you have increasing travel and ticket costs, and nobody bats an eyelash, that is a lack of controls.

they can institute show cause penalty which means you have to prove why you want to hire this coach or something to that effect. I think JH goes to the NFL anyways

I wonder if this impacts his ability to get a job there this offseason. I mean it’s becoming more clear that his success at Michigan is built on a house of cards. Not to mention the gambit of other issues in his program.

So the FBI is involved now?

Key questions:

Did the FBI raid Penn State after they were involved in decades of horrific conduct?

Is Michigan gonna get obliterated for sign stealing espionage while Penn State got to continue its football program uninterrupted?

Seems Michigan did a lot more than crimes in the state.
