ESPN, also known as the “Colin Kaepernick public relations and promotional network”, is doing their best to trumpet a story about an intoxicated 30 year old nurse (referred to as a UM fan) who was disorderly while being arrested and slapped a policeman. And in turn, the policeman punched the nurse.

ESPN felt the need to point out that the nurse is Hispanic and the policeman is black (how that has ANYTHING to do with the story is a mystery to me).

Of course this incident is a two’fer for ESPN as they can take a minor incident and ramrod it into a national story, because the nurse was apparently a UM fan, which in their addled minds proves that all things associated with the “U” are out of control, if not criminal. And, they can play their identity politics when pointing out the race of the nurse and policeman.

ESPN is on a precipitous downward trend that seems to be gaining speed…it couldn’t happen to a more deserving group.

Ahhh, brings back some fond memories of the WEZ at the OB.

Some of you guys read way too much into the story. SMH. ESPN is not always out to “get us”. This was on CNN and almost every other media outlet.

It’s news because of the police officer’s reaction to getting back handed and it was caught on tape. This would made news whether it was in Gainesville, Tuscaloosa, or anywhere else.

Report it an move on - and it got **** to do with sports, players, coaches, or on the field play.

Problem is ESPN will spend an entire segment on topics like this.

I will just say she looked like she was trying to give someone a high five as she was being taken out and missed.... horribly. Should she have gotten the beat down? Meh. Should she have been THAT LEVEL OF INTOXICATED? Mmmmmm probably not....

If you don't believe ESPN has proven time and again that they see UM as the anti-Christ of college football, then you, my friend, are living in a world I am not familiar with.

For almost 4 years as the lead-in to every ESPN telecast of UM games they would put up a graph detailing in great specificity the allegations by the NCAA concerning the Shapiro matter, while slowly explaining how deplorable UM's behavior was. Then, they would show the graph countless times throughout these telecasts and after game recaps. Their talking heads called for the UM football program to be disbanded or gleefully pointed out that the NCAA was considering the death penalty.

Then, there's been the literally hundreds of "Sports Centers" where even if they were talking about a Cricket match they would find a way to tie that into a shot at the "U" concerning the Shapiro fiasco.

Over the years any time a professional football player who had played for the "U" encountered a problem it would be introduced on ESPN as..."former University of Miami football player" and (fill in the name of the pro-team) was, blah, blah, arrested, negative, bad, shamefully, blah, blah, blah. You almost NEVER see that same college credit when a pro from another school is found to be in trouble.

ESPN en-paneled a group of so-called "experts" to "discuss" the UM/Shapiro situation concerning if Miami should be allowed to continue fielding a football team. Of course it wasn't a debate, but an hour long bashing of the "U" where none of them allowed facts to get in the way of a good fairy-tale that showed the "U" to be nothing more than a criminal enterprise.

****, recently ESPN's Paul Finebaum said; "Miami is bad for college football!

"it" is only "news" because "it" is caught on tape; ESPN/CNN get the chance to show "it" knowing people will talk about "it" and get them some attention.

"it" is gratuitous violence, of any kind

and finally, don't slap a cop
