ESPN's headline on Sunday will read 'Convicts beat Catholics'.
go CANES!!
For almost 4 years as the lead-in to every ESPN telecast of UM games they would put up a graph detailing in great specificity the allegations by the NCAA concerning the Shapiro matter, while slowly explaining how deplorable UM's behavior was. Then, they would show the graph countless times throughout these telecasts and after game recaps. Their talking heads called for the UM football program to be disbanded or gleefully pointed out that the NCAA was considering the death penalty.
No they didn't. The Shapiro $h!t was only a story until the ped state $h!t, wasn't a story again until we received our sentence...barely.
Did Miami get a lot of negative pub from the Shapiro mess? Of course! It was a story that allegedly had to do with student athletes going to strip clubs, having to get abortions for prostitutes, student athletes allegedly getting paid, etc. What a better way to sell papers and get ratings?
However, you don't think PSU didn't feel like the world was against them throughout the Sandusky nightmare, Florida during the Hernandez mess, or OSU with the Tressel firing?

Yeah...ESPN rarely mentioned the Shapiro matter and CNN rarely criticizes Donald Trump. Wow! Wow! and WOW!!!!
Nah *****, if anything, ESPN was on our side...especially when it was revealed they were providing Shapiro with prepaid cellphones behind bars. The tide of public opinion was on our side, Shalala just rode the wave.
Finally looked at my delivered late Pensacola News Journal and on the front page(actual front page, not the sports section ) was this story. Unbelievable.
