UM CB commit Burns working to gain weight, talks Northwestern teammates

I couldn’t care less if he is 5’9. I am talking about his weight. He will get out muscled by bigger receivers at the line Needs to get stronger there and I’m sure he will.
Just because you weigh less doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get out-muscled. And all CBs need to do is jam the wr just enough to delay the route. You don't have to be strong for that.

Exactly, he will be bigger, he will be stronger.

As a CB he will need to cover 6:4 210 lb fast receivers and tackle 225 lb RB's coming at his corner.
Absolutely and as someone said he needs to be at 175-185. That’s why I think building depth at cb is key for next year so he could redshirt to put on some size.

He's a definate redshirt.

If we had proper depth he wouldnt be needed for 2 plus years other than special teams. He is still rail thin..he's really good and pesky. He's a kid that really needs to go over to Bommarito or have a legit weight training coach and nutritionist get to him. He needs to come here at least 160-165 range.

Tecoury is still light in the *** as well. He is alot similar in that though small they arent timid kids they are pretty agressive at the high school level. College level becomes a different ball game

Agree on Burns. I thought Couch was already at 170+? That's enough to play meaningful minutes. Slim played at 170 at Miami.

I’ll post this pic one more time:

I'm not worried about his size & weight at all. He's obviously not a prototype CB measurables wise but with Feeley my concerns are minimal where as Felder didn't inspire a ton of confidence. If he shows up to campus at 160-165 he'll easily gain another 10-15 pounds by the time 2021 season starts.
