Let's say you are part of the admin and BOT at UM. Wouldn't it raise a red flag that your head coach just went to Dallas to learn how to coach? Wtf is wrong with these people.

That's wrong actually. It's the first smart thing golden has done. Many good coaches visit others to see how they do things and keep them from falling into routines. **** the Heat coach wenot to see chip Kelly when he was at Oregon.

That might require a greater depth of football awareness than they've got.

I've come to terms with the fact that they don't give a **** about the football program as long as its behavior doesn't reflect poorly on the school.

After Schiano bombed with the Bucs, he visited Jim Harbaugh, Belichek and Pete Carroll to try to learn from them. Fat Al visiting a winning organization isn't a bad thing.

NO. That's exactly what he and his staff should be doing during the off season. This is a very common practice in football. Coaches clinic with each other on specific stuff all the time.

Just coincidently there during Nat champ game week? He got free tickets to game like most d1 coaches do and is probably doing some networking with all the other coaches that go there. Making some connections for when he gets canned next yr. he ain't there to learn ****. JMO.

Of course he went to an organization that minimizes their lack of defensive talent by having the 2nd best time of possession in the NFL. The Cowboys are smart to do that. Miami who has better talent than probably 10 of 12 teams they face each year doing it is stupid. He also went to an organization in the middle of a game week. So how much time do they really have to spend with him and Coley? Purely PR.

This guy went to a team that reinforces his misguided philosophy.

The problem is that Al is more concerned with "process": front office, organization, and flow charts. He hasn't a clue how to assess the talent of his current players and build a system around them. He's a micromanager of a widget company masquerading as the head coach of a D1 football team. He views his players as gear cogs to be inserted into a fixed system, nothing more.

His trip to Dallas will have him looking for answers in all the wrong places; places that correspond to his world view of organizational operations.

Golden will fail at Miami and more generally, as a head coach. It's a fait accompli.

Basically they just pimped out the football program of a 100 million+ deal, one would think that would wake them up. The administration gets paid handsomely from the football program, the players wear the free uniforms, the players do not get paid, so where is the beef? The admin gives a **** about the revenue being generated, but cannot comprehend what they have and continue to sweep this **** show under the rug as they are killing the goose that laid the egg.

They are a bunch of liberals who support Shalala's anti football agenda 100%. Any one of them who cared about the football program would have publicly resigned by now.

BOT and Shalala are the same.

guess is a step up form frequent visits to the buffet
