UGA vs Tennessee

So far this is just a game between the team that ranks 2nd in the 247 Team Talent Calculator, and the team that ranks 19th.

I dunno, but for a copy cat league, I’m shocked more teams don’t run it.

They are, & that’s the caliber of RBs we need to be having; guys who are 5’11 - 6’1 210-215 w/ legit 4.3-4.5 speed. If we’re going to have 5’10 guys, they need to be pushing 200-205 w/ mad balance, shiftiness & quickness. Here at the U, we’ve had either or on the field for almost 30 yrs. Even in our lean yrs, we still had these types of backs.

Agree. It worked out a lot better with field position and a very short field. If it’s a free kick they likely don’t get near that position.

Yes, they have been bad to mediocre the last 10+ seasons. Good recruiting classes, but they fail to meet expectations. Like us, I think they have been ranked preseason top 25 a few times, but usually drop out quickly once the season starts. I would say they have even been a bigger disappointment than us until now, of course.

Obviously, Heupel's offensive philosophy has a lot to do with their quick turnaround. I'm not saying we would look like Tennessee or even close, but I think we would be improved on last year if Mario had went with an OC that runs a similar type of pass happy, spread offense. We probably wouldn't be talking about how our players suck *** and are soft. We aren't playing to our players strengths, and we have an OC that cannot recognize a mismatch and cannot diagnose a play to take advantage of those mismatches.

Not every program has to take a step backward to go forward with a new coach (USC, Oregon, Duke, etc...) Not sure why some of our fans think we had to go backward this season. It didn't have to be like this.

I'd rather see Tennessee win but it's probably better if Georgia wins as that's the status quo. Don't need a new team getting more steam than they already have.

Oddly, Tennessee runs the ball more than UGA. Or so they just said on the game broadcast.
