UF's Mcelwain fired today

I've seen UF fans claiming the leads are Bob Stoops and Chip Kelly which makes me lol

LOL at Bob Stoops coming out of retirement to work at that dumpster fire.

You'd have to pay Chip Kelly like $10M a year to coach to give up that cherry 49ers money.
UiF fans claimed all the elite coaches were on their board last time and they ended up with McEltooth so....

I'm good as long as it's not Kelly or Frost
Not so sure why everyone gags on Kelly so much. He walked away from college for the very things that are essential to being a good college coach like recruiting. It’s one thing to recruit nationally from Oregon, another thing to have to live and breathe in the viper pit that is recruiting in Florida and the SEC if you don’t like things like it.

I dont think he is the next saban that makes a glorious return. Spurrier like at best.

Frost to me would be the bigger issue but i just doubt he goes to UF vs Nebraska.

Frost would be a bigger issue than the guy he learned it from?

Kelly is practically a legend based on what he innovated at Oregon it'd be big trouble if he came back and Florida would recruit itself

yes, I think frost would be a bigger issue than the guy he learned it from. Times change. I don’t feel like kelly is the next saban in terms of success in college again when and if he returns. We shall see.

They are talking about getting Les Miles...Lmao...that would be great as well. Corch 2.0

Florida Gators ask head coach Jim McElwain to accept less than $12.76M buyout

Hasn't been fired as of yet. They are still meeting and asking him to accept less than the 12 mil buyout. If I'm McElthoof, I tell them to *** off and if you want me gone pay me.

Of course they want him to dump that buyout.

They payed $7M to get him out of his CSU contract, and they still owe Muschamp money.

It's a complete disaster for them that he failed this badly.

Agreed! If they are asking you to reduce the buyout they most likely know they have no standing to fire him with cause. This whole death threat non-sense was all about creating leverage.

Tooth probably knew he was on the outs after next season with a reduced buyout, so he created a narrative to put pressure on UF admin that forced their hand to receive the larger buyout this season.

He's not coaching another game at UF. Shannon will be interim HC. Verified per source.

I was hoping UF would lose a coach when they had 4-5 commits we actually want vs now when it's 1-2. The good news for UM is that Shannon is the man. Of course we want UF to lose every game. But, if they happen to play well Shannon may get the gig. Especially with the financial issues they may have with multiple buyouts. It's a win win for UM

McElwain must have thought a violation of his contract only pertained to photos of him with farm animals - and didn't apply to aquatic life.

Mike Bianchi's column today....hilarious. Said yesterday's game was the world's largest going away party :nelson-haha:

Also said McEltooth got fired because he was arrogant & no-one liked him. Wonder if Spurrier had anything to do with the ax falling?

I read on the gator website that Spurrier had offered to help with the QBs or something like that and got told to **** off essentially.

Shannon isn't getting the HC gig.
No chance.
But it wouldn't surprise anyone if the next HC retains him as DC, especially if it's a HC
whose background is offense.

He's officially out. ESPN just announced it. Shannon as interim HC.

To let it be known, I hope they lose every single game remaining. Destroy their recruiting. What top tier coach is out there that would want that gig, and even if so, how is UF going to pay said miracle worker?

Muschamp money plus McTooth money plus new coach money... Come on.
