They’re not really being a conservative. It’s just that Florida is in that bend, but don’t break defense. So they’re forcing the offense to go on 10 to 12 play drives. The problem is that we kill ourselves with penaltiesThis conservative BS is not going to work long term.
Any time I see one of our QBs one hopping an open check down, I think, oh ****, Kirby Freeman gameI think Florida has a very good defense.
But our passing game looks inept.
Dawson get in your bag and earn your stripes in the 2nd half.
Beck...quit one hopping simple throws.
They are moving AND shouting right before the snap! That’s illegal! That **** must stop!I think this is the case. USF did something similar. It’s like our center is having a pavlovian reaction to something they do.
Do us a favor, sit down. There are multiple factors at play here tonight, some of which limit how ugly this game will ultimately get. You have weather, UF playing a bend but don't break defense, which limits explosives and honestly, makes it difficult to break the game open. Napier knows his team is shorthanded and ultimately screwed, so he decided to go with the old Mike Norvell "I'm not going to do anything that can get me blown out" strategy.
The big thing tonight are the mental errors. Brockermeyer is responsible for 3-4 mental mistakes by himself, that's tough. Miami can and should be able to pull away in the second half, especially if the weather cooperates and it stops raining. A couple of drops and weird plays have happened because of the wet football, and I'm quite sure that's why Dawson isn't calling certain concepts. Don't give Florida, a team that can't score on **** near anyone an opportunity to crawl back into the game on a short field, or on a fluke play.
WTF is wrong Brockermeyer? This isn’t the ball is slick ****. We have killed ourselves with pre snap penalties. Sure, their defense has knocked down some balls…but we have stalled our own drives…hope they figure this out at half…frustrating as ****. Our defense is playing incredible…Rain + humidity is making the ball slick. It’s why we keep fumbling snaps and why Beck’s throws are ‘off’
I'm convinced that Beck is unable to consistently throw a wet football. Maybe the elbow thing has affected his ability to really grip the rock, but you can see that his throws just aren't the same tonight.Mario said the dline is doing some things but he has to do better with that.
Beck had the middle open for a run on that third down.
Mimicking snap , moving in pre snap , some clap hands if you use a clap for cadence(Real question)
What exactly is this? (simulating the snap)
But hey, stats don’t lie…It’s gotta be one of the worst running schemes in the country
Stadium full of top receivers and this is what we show them. I see why they all commit to other schools.
That's what I suspect is going to happen, but it's kind of frustrating not to have put 7 on the board that close to their goal line because Dawson was so committed to running it into the strength of their defense.Heatherman has this D dialed in.
Need to clean up things on offense and wear them out in the 2nd half.
Because Carson's strength is his pre snap adjustments so we're over the ball longer than usual. Mario has to start pointing this out to refs.I think a bunch of teams this year have been doing something to get false starts. I’ve watched a lot of college football this year and it seems every team has had a minimum of 5 false starts per game.
OT: Indiana walloping Illinois, Mendoza 15/17 with 4 TDs. Legit?
Their defense isnt doing anything special. Good coverage but theyre not going off. This is more about miami than anything.
Again you got inside the 5 and went full muh inside zone run.
Miami needs to use more misdirection everytime we have it's been a big gain.
The offense just falls into their tendencies way too often.
Wheee was it in the red zoneWe've ran more outside and counter than we have in two years. Lmao. Issue is our push on 2nd downs
