Chip was probably asking for a real house and all they had to offer was a double wide.

UCLA is a very good job IF the administration cares. They recently built a 90M football facility and have started paying coaches, also lowered admission standards some. Most importantly, the worst AD in collegiate athletics, Dan Guerrero is set to retire next year.

Mora did a good job of getting them to invest more into football, he just sucked.

2 things about the UF job that will make it tough to fill with a big time name

1. No one wants to work under Foley and Spurrier
2. The SEC turnover is so rapid fast that stepping into that is career suicide

UF was always a B level job. They hit the lotto with Meyer, plus the entire SEC was mediocre and couldnt play offense when he was there and Miami AND FSU both sucked at that time. And they still never went undefeated. School is and always was the third best program in its own state.

Chip Kelly just a better fit with UCLA. Familiar with that conference, the west coast and recruiting California.

These SEC SEC SEC schools might get a reality check. All that money isn't really that attractive when Saban is your measuring stick and you have to live in Gainesville, College Station, Knoxville, etc.

Same hype every year for every SEC coaching vacancy. Initial reports that Belichick, Tomlin and Pete Carroll are all interested.......and then they just end up with a former Saban assistant. It's a conference and a media that covers them full of legit deludinoids.

Ppl think the Florida job is desirabable because of the "fertile recruiting grounds in Florida" but really the cream de la cream of 'Cruts are in the state of Miami. And outside of a few kids who weren't raised right. The hearts of those players belong to the U. So when you take that into considration you are in an area with above average Cruts and sky high expecations. If ppl recall Myers best players and difference makers while at UF were national guys like Harvin, Hernandez, etc.

As others have noted as well. Dealing with not 1 delisouional AD but 2 now. And the Admin insistning that the coach keep exisiting members of staff on to keep their suppose "south florida ties" is going to make it more difficult. I love it cuz that just make it better for us!
