Tyriq McCord shouldn't see the field anymore

Once again, our Defense cost us this but some here want to blame Kayaa. What a bleeping joke.

He is 100% playing out of position....its sad what they are doing to these kids.

coaching sucks...but coaching is not the reason tyriq is not better. He's just not good. Good coaching would make him an average player.

Herb Waters is a better case for what you're talking about.

Tyriq has one really good skill. Speed rush around the edge. Using him in any other way is doing him and the program a disservice. If he had gone to South Carolina or Florida he'd probably have 20-25 career sacks at this point and we'd all be asking why we missed him.

No he wouldn't. There are plenty of guys like McCord at other big time schools...they just never see the field because there's 2 guys better than him at his position. Our linebacker depth is challenged due to misses in recruiting and he's forced to play right now. By this time of the year, I was hoping I'd have seen a lot more Darrion Owens instead of McCord (Get well soon), but Darrion's injury has forced McCord to play a lot.

McCord sucks, It ****ed me off alot against Nebraska at the end of the fourth he turned towards the endzone and was screaming and yelling at fans to stfu.

On the other hand, I thought Quan Muhammad played good and Norton showed lots of potential.

You are a full on ****** or a troll.
.

He may be trolling, but he's not lying about McCord playing like **** on Saturday.

There is more than one example of the guy taking himself completely out of the play w/o any effort from the offense.

I'm not saying it's his fault...but he's going to be out of football soon if he can't get it together.

/He's only got one rushing move.
//He can't play in space for ****.

Muschamp didn't want mccord for a reason. That guy has been overrated since day 1. He is not out of position he doesn't have one.

He is to weak and bad against the run to be a 4-3 end and is to bad in space to play lb.

OP is a clown. MCCORD was meant to be a stud 4-3 DE. We made him a dud 3-4 olb

There are no 235 pound, 4.8 stud defensive ends in big time college football. Sorry.

But isn't that sort of the point? I mean, he bulked up (and consequently seems to have slowed down) to fit a position that he never should've been put in.

Didn't he have a knee injury as well?

Dude was about 217 when he came on campus. What the **** was he going to play?

Vic beaseley at clemson last year was 235 but he was strong and ran in the 4.44-4.5 range after adding weight to get up to 245.

It's dumb to criticize any player that has played or is currently playing under Al Golden and his incompetent staff.

You are a full on ****** or a troll.

The guy is being asked to do something that he is not suited for - square peg round hole. He's either setting edges or covering the flats - 2 things he is not really made for.

As I said a few days ago. It's **** near impossible to tell the difference.

This is the same group that destroyed Anthony Chickillo by making him bulk up and play inside. I guess the OP believes McCord should be covering slot receivers also.

McCord is like many of our recent touted defenders. He looks broad shouldered and awesome while signing that letter of intent. Put him on the field and his tackle radius is laughable. Unless the play is smack in front of him and the opponent remains all but stationary, a whiff is a huge favorite.

Deon Bush is the same way, regardless if anyone wants to hear it.

We've had so many of these guys it often looks like 9 defenders out there instead of 11. It's comical to pretend otherwise. I attended two other college games on my recent trip to the Cincinnati game. I watched Louisville in person and Kentucky in person. While attending a game with no rooting interest it's easy to recognize trends and contrast. I was startled when I'd see defenders actually alter course in a short window and make a play that seemed unlikely. We specialize in exactly the opposite, kids who get there and take the wrong angle or flop over the top of the quarterback's shoulders, allowing an unwarranted escape. Maddening, and it has been going on for years.

How can anyone believe that this coaching staff does everything right in terms of identifying talent, and everything wrong in terms of scheme and strategy? That defies probability to such degree it's hysterical. Mediocre minds err all over the board. They pursue the wrong assistant coaches and the wrong players, etc. Lousy instincts and priorities. Essentially they seek their own level. Naturally we have guys here and there who get picked high and succeed in the NFL. That's normal distribution, particularly given our recruiting base. But it's not what it should be. Not remotely close. Once we get an ultra sharp guy on the sideline -- assuming it happens -- the dynamic will naturally reverse, with astute decisions across the board.

It's normal distribution to have 7 drafted players on a 6 win team? Add two other guys (Gunter and Armbrister) who went undrafted, but made 53 man rosters. And, Armbrister made his first start this past weekend.

What else ya selling?

Hes a one trick pony, dont matter the scheme hes a pass rush specialist thats it

so why ask him to cover wrs? and why do all of our rush ends like a variety of moves. they all usually try to speed rush and get to the outside of the tackles leaving huge gaps for the qb to step up or run. you can tell after all these years there just isn't the coaching infrastructure to develop these kids. it's like our fan base has amnesia and choose a new player to blame every week. this week aqm rocked and then next week he will be hated for looking lost in this putrid defense.

like michael sam is an all world class athlete right yet pretty much owned the SEC. only miami fans are stupid enough to not notice every major program in the country have guys with great production whom are average athletes. it's like our coaches expect our guys to come in with whatever skillset and that they dont have to teach them fundamentals. and idk how they would even have time to team things like rush techniques, tackling, and taking angles considering our guys have to learn multiple defenses. this scheme is so absurdly bad our guys have to literally out athlete guys to look semi decent.
