Obviously we want guys like Keys or Russell to be in this class, but this kid Evans would be a quality add to the WR room imo. He's over 6'3 200 pounds and runs a 4.5 forty, those are legitimate tools to develop as an outside WR.
I agree, the question would Briggs be counted as wr for now

I don’t doubt he’s on his way out, I’m just saying the overall sentiment towards him on this board was fairly positive 4-5 months ago, just goes to show the power of crootin cause the WR play has actually been solid under him IMO

Look, I'm not going to fight if someone will listen to reason. But "4-5 months ago" there was a thread where several people spoke of Beard moving on. A bunch of uninformed posters claimed that was "false" and "rumors" and "lies". But they were wrong.

Here's the real issue. Some people know what is going on. But the majority of posters simply go with the flow. So if you want to judge "overall sentiment", that's up to you. But most of those people are basing their opinions on misguided assumptions.

As I have stated, in both simple statements as well as a review of the last two WR classes, Beard is NOT "bad at recruiting", nor is he the best in the business. But somehow, a bunch of posters don't want to listen, and think this is about "crootin" or "WR play". It's not. He will not move on for "bad crootin" and he will not be saved by "good WR play".

I think he's a TE all the way, but he has the tools to be that flex TE who can line up anywhere. If Miami lands that kid Turner from Duncanville, I think he could fit in the WR room because he's not that traditional 6'4 - 6'5 body type, but at 6'2 - 6'3 215.

We just need some taller wr on the field sometimes

Fwiw, I do think this kid has some serious upside as a deep threat. I’d like the pickup for us and I expect his ranking to rise. I feel for the kid though because he will likely be a part of an underwhelming WR class that lacks day 1 impact ability and will be kinda **** on because of that, lol.
Eventually one of these 5 star WRs is gonna take our bag we’ve been throwing the past 3 years… French, Smith, Innis… gotta land keys or Russell this class… at least for the optics

Evans will lose his 4th star coming here.

KB can't recruit? Toney, Josh Moore, and JoJo Trader were some of the most highly coveted players in the country. Ny Carr was HIGHLY regarded. Is everything based on not landing Jeremiah Smith?
Yup, I think this fan base is tired of losing the Jeremiah smiths, Innis (who has looked like a dud), French’s, etc…

Tough to out recruit schools who have been pumping Justin Jefferson’s, nabors, Garrett Wilson’s, and Marvin Harrison’s of the world… to easy to sell “hey your next kid just show up”

We haven’t landed a top 10 WR since mark pope in 2018 based off 247 position rankings. Jojo was #14.
Trader was #9 so he was top 10.

I say KB stays depending on this yr WR production. You people's are looking at it wrong. When was the last time Miami produced a first round receiver. Been awhile. I think the receivers have a good yr and KB gets one more yr to land a top reciever. Some of you all are so unrealistic. It's pathetic.
Yeah, it’s been a long time and guess what, it’s the freaking receivers coaches job to land a receiver that can go in the first round. And beard hasn’t done that, so kick rocks with continued attitude of let’s just keep giving him a chance. It’s too late for that ****! Either do it now or we have to move on and I guarantee you that’s how Mario thinks about it.

What excuse

What excuse. We haven't done Sh@t 20 yrs. That's no excuse those are facts. I don't know what's going on. The guy can develope players. From my stand point he gets one more yr. We win they come. He's recruited pretty good from what we got. This yr will tell if he stays or goes.
We win, they come, huh? Then why aren’t they coming this year? We won 10 games last year and had the number one offense, so where are the receivers now? I can’t stand this attitude of keep giving people chance after chance, but no results. Call it what you will but wide receiver recruiting this year has been garbage so far. Can it make a slight comeback if we get this Evans kid and Lopez yes but that’s still not good enough.

Well I’m tired of those beating around the bush 💩. I want to know what’s going on. What’s your email so I can be informed?

All this talk of "whiffing" on WRs yet we had the most productive group in the country last year, We had a squad good enough to win it all with.
That's the problem. We just had the number one offense in the country, yet we're still whiffing on portal and high school Wr's. The math isn't mathing
