Tyler Byrd SR Highlights

Very good tackler for the CB position gets good leverage off blocks and squares up real nice when taking a guy down

He will be 20 when the season starts next year.

Tyler was also the first two-time Youth All-American in history in middle school.

He ran an electric 4.61 at Nike combine before his junior year. He's down to 4.5 range now. 39" vertical. Had 102 SPARQ score at the nike combine before his junior year. I don't know why he didn't go to combine again but he would have easily been invited to The Opening.

There is a reason why I had this kid rated the #1 prospect in the class when I evaluated them after their junior years. (Still going through our guys senior film right now but I was very firm in him being the best prospect)

Brings return ability on special teams, great knack at blocking kicks, Uber athletic, Great tackler, good speed, physical, size ready, understands how to use the sideline as an extra defender and very versatile. Anything outside the hashes and your gonna have trouble completing passes on this kid, you have to beat him inside.... If you can.

He's about 6'0" and about almost 200 or maybe in 200 range already. Strong lower frame too.

He has experience in playing both zone and man.

He can play WR if needed but his money position is at DB. You can plug him in at corner or safety.

Central had to throw to the other side all night, he had his side on lock the whole game. He has proven himself in some big games already.

Sam Bruce has mentioned before that Tyler is the best DB he had faced at an event.(This was before Tyler flipped to Miami)

He just loves the U in general, loves the class sizes and loves the tradition of sending players to the NFL. One of our most solid commitments.

Can't wait to watch him, Shaq, Ahmmon, Ced and JoJo during the Army Game.

I've been saying it for a long time, I really expect him to be playing early and often here as a freshman.

Believe he can challenge for starting spot opposite Corn if Artie leaves.

The best part of his highlight is that most of it is made up of him playing WR. That means he's locking people down at CB and there's nothing being thrown his way, meaning no highlights.

Are all of them playing in the Army Game? I only see Shaq, Ahmmon, and Tyler on the Roster. I'd be pumped if all of them were invited

Byrd earlier this year had scored on three consecutive touches. 2 long bomb touchdowns and then took an INT to the house. Had 3 TDs and 2 picks that game. Remember him blocking two FGs in a game too.

He was big time in the playoffs for Naples. Lot of 100 yard games. Have a guy who lives in the Naples area, said the kid was lights out in the playoffs on both sides.

Yeah I just checked it too. I don't know why they're not on the roster, that's strange. They were both invited to the Army game during the spring. I know McCloud only had a nomination but Ced and JoJo were invited. Unless they switched to under armour with Jack, Dionte and Bruce. Bethel playing in the under armour game as well.

Naples Head Coach is going to be the coach for the EAST team. Bodes well for Byrd, gonna get a lot of PT during the Army game.

Victor, Mullen, Young and J.Cook are playing in the Army game as well.

Pinckney playing in that All-American game that Kaaya and Owens played in before.

Who is that at the 01:23 mark? Lol dude has some wheels
Any1?

Willie Johnson from South Ft. Myers. CB'd to Tennessee. Has a Miami offer. His cousin is former Miami DB, Nate Dortch. Ran a 4.31 at the FSU camp.

"The 6-foot, 170-pounder received a scholarship offer from Miami months following a standout camp with the Hurricanes, where Dixon said he wowed coaches. They pulled Johnson aside afterward, along with a few other prospects, and gave him a tour of the campus and facility."

His offensive production went way up toward the end of the season. Not sure if Kieran has learned to throw it away from Byrd's body or it's coincidence. Byrd is a body catcher, so he loses a lot off his pads. He can really go up and get the ball away from him, though.
