Ty Simpson (has declared for the draft)

This guy is a clown. No one at Bama will remember him in 10 years and he’s a career backup in the NFL. A way less talented version of Kirk Cousins.
Dude in 10 years won’t even be allowed on the sidelines. He’ll have to pay for a ticket

Get blown out by A terrible FSU team, jawaj in the SEC championship game, and absolutely destroyed by IU in the playoffs.

Yeah bro GREAT legacy lol better off just saying you tired of “playing school” and want to just do the NFL thing and I would respect the decision more. Would be funny if he never makes the money in the league he woulda got for one year here.

This kid is a joke. Decent player but anyone who gets demolished by tnag fspoo team doesn’t had a legacy. Bama fans probably would like Jalen Milroe more than him. Well the non racist ones anyways

Make him say no to $4M then $5M then $6M with Cocoplum house rental, private chef, chaffeur, and Ruiz can park a demo Cigarette boat out back.

Miami made $14M (plus whatever of the $9M travel money we didn't use) so far.

Make the CFP final and we pocket $20M + $12M travel.
NCAA with its governing power will not allow any dastardly deeds to occur in CFB .
No illegal compensation to recruits, family , concubines or encourages NCAA has complete control.

He’s not a top 2 round pick imo. All the numbers that you mentioned plus only starting one year is a recipe for disaster. Unless he goes to Green Bay and sits for a couple seasons he’s gonna be a Mega Bust.

This whole bama legacy BS is so stupid. He’s not gonna be remembered by anyone at Bama. Let this Keelon Russell kid have some success next year and people will be happy that Simpson left.
I do not think so either, but he is being advised like he is one and currently being projected as one by some (maybe most) of the usual talking heads.

That is usually a mix of the parrot effect but also agent and even personnel talking to some of those draft heads.

I think Mendoza is a nice, safe starter in the NFL. But lacks the high end of some of the previous R1P1 picks of recent vintage (Williams, Lawrence). He's superseded all projections in his life and has won at every level...taking teams that have never won to the pearly gates. He'll defy whatever the naysayers project. But I think he's pretty good. 9.3ypa, 33 career starts, #1 overall pick...that plays every time and its better than most people on this forum think.

After him...its a bad draft. I like Beck because hes a Cane, but hes a dented can at best...hoping he can reclaim the juice of his 2023 campaign. Hes damaged goods at worst. Might be my QB2 in the draft...but thats not a compliment.

Id also take Chambliss ahead of him. Projects more as a backup though. Hes got some juice. Just reminds me a bit of Seneca Wallace. He was a backup in the league for a decade.

I like Diego Pavia more than most. 9.4ypa as a senior...over 50 career D1 starts and big wins leading his teams to some of the best wins and seaons at downtrodden schools. Hes just a midget with physical limitations. Not sure if he can learn a playbook without practice reps...but he played school at Vandy. Not a R1 player by any means but a fun backup. Baker Mayfield after Federal and State income taxes that lies about his height on his Tinder profile. Maybe he just becomes a lost letterman, but id take him on Day 3 as a scratch off. He's bringing juice and a chip on his shoulder to your team.

I just see Simpson as a backup type in the league, and a boring one. Maybe he lasts a while and gets lucky to develop under a real QB whisperer and you get him to starter, but the lack of starting experience puts his learning curve as steep. And maybe I'm an idiot and he's a stud...but it doesnt look like it.

Hey Ty question….why didn’t they try to get you to return next year? 🤔
It is kind of strange. Multiple interviews now he's talked about how he didn't want to play for another college team, that's why he's going to the draft. Like those were his only 2 options. Never says anything about not wanting to stay and play at Bama for another year 🤔.

Young man is having buyer’s remorse - he knows that his “best” move was to accept our offer of being paid and being developed. But something tells me that “people” in his inner circle just couldn’t stomach him playing for Miami - convinced him that having a “legacy” of playing at Alabama was worth more. Loyalty does have its perks, but it has to be for the right reasons - and this one reeks of all the wrong reasons. But hey, to each his own

Most of them doing this feel their already developed even though they can’t there mentally weak .
Loyalty perks are favors he’ll portal till there’s no more money left but going home saying “ oh my what have I done mommy “ I’m going back to sleepy Pooh

Not subscribing to all his projections but Matt Miller makes some interesting comments about Simpson. Has him going to the Jets at #44. Said he doesn't have a Round 1 grade on Simpson and he couldn't find a single scout/team at the Senior Bowl who had a Round 1 grade on him , either....
Thinks this may be the best case scenario for Simpson.

I don't think the Jets are that interested, btw.....

Miller has 1 QB in the first round - Mendoza
