Tweet about Jarren and Trevor Lawrence

Yeah..I'm not so sure about that. Trevor definitely does not have elite arm talent like say a Rodgers or Mahomes. After this yr the gap between Trevor & Jarren will become a lot less wide. This is a player that wants you to think he's chopped liver, because he plays with a monster size chip on his shoulder. He has the intangibles that you need in order to be great.

Great receivers make a QB look better. Look at us the last few games 2 years ago. We lose Ahmon and Herndon to injuries and we lost to Pitt, Clemson, and Wisc.

T Lawrence had some great receivers last year. Didn't a couple move on?

Perhaps, but it won't change his impact on college football and the NFL. Trevor Lawerance is the best player in college football until he leaves. Maybe he gets hurt and misses four games next season, and doesn't win the Heisman. Maybe the Heisman voters don't want to vote for the same guy twice. Either way, Trevor is already elite and is already NFL ready.
So right now, Trevor can line up and slice up NFL defenses right now.....he has physical tools that make him ready...but i would hold just for second on making him the greatest QB to play....

Jarren is our QB and he may have performed better as some camps but TLaw is a once in a generation player.

You are beginning to sound like one of the many sports reporters/writers out there. In the last decade, the same has been said about Crab Legs Winston, Desaun Watson, Saquon Barkley etc. Easy with the Beano Cook like anointing of TL. Don't get me wrong, he's a **** good player, but there are lots of those for each generation.

Go Canes!

He played better in that Army game and they took his *** out with the quickness. Cant look better than the golden boy. :rk5i6fxwjlgev5j6.jpg: :rk5i6fxwjlgev5j6.jpg:
Man, it was really frustrating. All week everyone talked about Jarren looking every bit as good as TL, then come game time it's 10 to 1 snaps for TL.

interesting factoid however this goes to point out how critical player development is in the process.Jon Richt was in over his head whereas Clemson has the developmental staff to develop players to perform at Lawrences level

My brother says this.. Said his receivers were making sick one handed catches..... Thinks Lawrence will drop a bit this year...

Maybe. In the last generation or so, we had brady, manning, Elway, Marino, Young, Montana, Rodgers, Favre, Kelly, Aikman, prolly Warner, supposedly Luck, Palmer, Testaverde, Newton, Vick. There are lots of guys who are the new new thing. I think Lawrence is a terrific prospect, but no need to nut over him in advance.
I don't really have a dog in this debate, but I'd point out your list makes up more than one generation. Also, even though most of those QB's turned out to be great, you could argue only Elway was considered a generational talent coming out of college.

Manning and Luck were close, but even many considered Leaf for #1 so that knocks back his inclusion and neither were considered great athletes (although Luck is pretty athletic).

Vick might be the next best argument (and to a lesser extent Newton) as having all the physical tools but weren't thought of as a traditional pocket passer. Vick was a special talent (but his brother was an *****).

No one talks about it but Clemson lost a lot on defense, 2 of their best linebackers, best db and 5 dlineman (3 1st round draft picks) who have been key to all of this success for Clemson in recent years. I know They have recruited well but that’s a lot to replace period

Yeah the Beano Cook on Powlus. Lawrence just lead his team to the national title as a freshman and wasn't a passenger. First pick unless the team already has a legit franchise QB. I think we got a gem too in Williams though.

Don't forget Johnny Football, RG III, Jamarcus Russell, Ryan Leaf, Brady Quinn....

The list of "generational talent" busts is long and distinguished.
