TVD's Biggest Adjustment

His biggest adjustments:
1. Spread the ball around to make sure people aren't cheating off of TEs/RBs (Int #2)
2. Stop having lazy eyes which have allowed the safety to cheat because he is looking towards the target (Int #1)
3. Stop forcing the ball into tight windows because you have ALL freaking day to throw! (Int #3)
[BGCOLOR=initial]4. THROW THE BALL AWAY when you aren't sure. [/BGCOLOR]

[BGCOLOR=initial]Extra credit- never run that option play with Colbie again![/BGCOLOR]
If UNC plays mostly Zone he could be in trouble.
If they are arrogant and play mostly man then TVD will probably do well.

He struggles more with zone, especially when he stares down one WR. He gets away with that in man. With zone, he will be more likely to throw into coverage and forced throws.

Dawson can help with that by giving him long balls, seams, screens vs all the option routes

He does another Gt performance i say bench him the rest of the year . If we’re going go lose mildest we’ll break in our true freshman qb. Im sick of bs already, same bs last year prior to getting hurt againt that 2 a ten school . Like he is blind once he gets pressured he scks

If it ain't asking too much... TVD needs to gain the ability to read defenses and make good slit second decisions before he lets the ball leave his hand.
If he can't make good decisions behind the center, then we're ****ed and the season is toast.

Can someone create a meme using the wolverine in bed holding the framed photo. Put TVD’s head on Wolverine and have X be in the framed photo?

Paging @Baba Yaga

I have it ready to fire, actually, and I share your sentiment about wishing my favorite bartender would stare at me the way TVD stares down X.

But I like TVD and throwing to X is usually not a bad choice. However, Colbie Young et al. should get more looks, and TVD played like **** Saturday, relatively speaking.

If he keeps doing it I'll drop the meme lol.

Yeah just like when he forced it to him on his end zone INT, while the RB was open for the check down
X was open on the play if TVD threw the ball as soon as the defender turned his head. But the extra 2 hops he took gave the safest time to recovery. At that point in the play you are correct the he has to throw to the check down.

Move the chains however we need... He's not Kayaa with cinder blocks for feet.. let him get yardage if nothing is there... with all our weapons the D should never know where the **** we're attaching next.

And he has time to scan the field with this line. He just refused to do it last week.

TVD - 4TDs and 4Ints in his career vs UNC (0-2 record). Let’s see what happens Saturday after losing to a GT team that Jacurri Brown beat as a True Freshman last year.

If you are counting on TVD to rush 4-5 times for 50 yards, you are going to be disappointed.

Key was an interim coach last year after Collins was fired, new-look team this year with him—and Haynes King is lighter years better than turnover prone disaster Jeff Simms—which is why Kam Kinchens picked him off three times last year.

Beyond in accurate to compare this to the GT team that “Jacurri Brown beat as a true freshman last year.”

Stop being the UM qb that’s the only way. He stares guys down his arm isn’t as strong as people say. I don’t see those frozen ropes it’s like he lobs every fkin thing. He will have some down games and someone else will get blamed for sure. It’s just how it works here. He’s serviceable (that’s being nice cause serviceable is consistent) but not the big time qb we need I don’t think that guy is here yet. That’s my opinion though

I’ll disagree. Don’t think X was ever open on that play. George was open but TVD knew where he wanted to go from the beginning

Problem is we don’t have a better option right now. Emory has great leadership characteristics and solid short and mid range throws, but in limited attempts on deep shots he hasn’t thrown a catchable ball.

If we pull TVD and Emory proves to not be ready, that’ll be the 4th QB under Mario at Miami to fail and that’s a horrible pattern for recruiting.

Unfortunately TVD has games where it looks like he needs to hit the bench but I don’t think we have a better option either. I thought there was a good argument to pull him in the GT game but he did enough to win in the end.

Maybe if Emory protects the ball and makes smart reads on short and intermediate plays we don’t need the deep pass but it’s a lot to gamble on a young kid’s shoulders

To beat FSU, Clemson, and UNC I think we need TVD to play well. Not sure if Emory can deliver those wins. Emory may be more consistent and keep us from losing games against GT where TVD may forget to show up (like last year against MTSU), but it seems risky to give the job to someone who may also not be ready

That’s fine - you can have the “in the weeds” argument all you want but I think we can agree that TVD (purposely leaving out the coaching staff in this argument since they aren’t the one’s throwing the Interceptions) shouldn’t be losing to this horrible GT team.

They may be a better version than last year but even as a True Freshman last year, Jacurri went 3TDs vs 0 Ints. He had no business even playing in that game.

TVD as a 4th year junior, the 3 INTs is inexcusable.
