TVD

What’s your point? We should’ve been up by double digits, if the first half wasn’t a sh*t show. I said the loss wasn’t his fault, but he’s not absolved of any criticism. He turned the ball over three times.
The point is that expectation of 4 TDs and zero picks every game is just silly. Yeah, if he plays a perfect game, we win by 20. If all of our players play a perfect game, we win the title. Thanks.

He had 3 turnovers and missed about 5 throws that would’ve extended drives and 2 that would’ve been TD’s. I didn’t say he lost the game. I’m saying he carries some blame just like the coaching staff and the entire defense.

His first half was a big fat F.

His second half was a high B.

He gets a C minus from me for the game or even a D plus.

His first half performance combined with a terrible defensive performance cost us the game. It was too much to overcome.

Also, don't give me that **** about the Harley INT someone was trying to sell. He was half a yard too far ahead of Harley with his pass. That's not on Harley and it's dumb luck it landed on the FSU player, but nice work by him to wrap it up.

3 turnovers to three TD's. That miracle to Harley, again a bad pass too high, it shows up in the stats but that's it. Those balls are usually picked off and we'd be talking 3 INT's.

It's okay, all of it. He's young, got time to improve and makes some amazing throws. There's no reason it can't be talked about, the good and the bad.

you said a team can't win with 3 first half turnovers...TVD over came that.

Fumble was not him dude. If you think so, please explain

He's in charge of the ball. Pocket collapsing all around him, he's gotta secure it or get rid of it. He tried to get rid of it, but was late in doing either. It happens, beast play by 11 and his OL needs to give him more time. Still, it was his fumble and that's that.

My faith in our special teams is shook. That punt by Lou with 2:50 left should have been downed at the 1 yard line
And it kept rolling. We just needed a false start penalty and it would've stopped at the one yard line. The team let Hedley down.

Y’all talking like van dyke going to be a starter for 2-3 years no lol .if he has a great year next year then he’s going to the draft and it’s garcia’s job after that.

Van dyke can make some good and gutsy throws but his deepball is inconsistent and that’s a fair assessment of his game
So, what percentage of targets and completions on deep balls is needed to be consistent?

Here are some reference points from last year (have to wait for end of season for 2021). The top college QBs in 2020 were close to 70% on target on deep balls. These are target accuracy not completions. Trevor Lawrence was at 70% up from 48% his previous year. I find that very incouraging for TVD as he will only get better.

According to PFF, NFL QB's deep ball accuracy (completions) are anywhere from 30% to just over 50%. Aaron Rodgers is 33 3% and Tom Brady is 40.2% for reference.
IDK what TVD's deep ball numbers are, but I think next year he'll be one of the top deep ball accuracy QBs as he continues to improve.

I gotta disagree with "it was too much to overcome". If THAT'S the case, why did we have an 8 point lead in the 4th quarter? We overcame the start just fine. What we didn't do is finish them, and the reason we didn't finish them was the D, and the play calling on O on our second to last drive.

No qualms for TVD. He stepped up after a bad first half. I hope the next staff can develop him.

I don’t have the stomach to discuss what happened yesterday so I’m not going to just talk about the same things

To me yesterday was more proof that TVD is the guy

It’s impossible to write up a scenario that could have been worse for him

Bad reads. Missed throws. Both at the same time. We blinked and on the road against FSU the game was basically over

But things just don’t bother this kid

He didn’t let an epically horrifying first quarter snowball and he just kept letting it rip

So in some ways it was his worst game, but as far as the rest of his career goes, I think this may have been the most impressed I’ve been with him

I’m a huge Garcia fan but I don’t see this kid ever letting go of the job

I’m just looking for something here….thanks for listening
You are 100% correct, kid doesn't flinch, doesn't get down on teammates just goes back to work.

We love to crown people early. I remember hearing another young QB was the goods after airing it out against FSU. I think he’s in the portal again.

Hopefully he hires a qb coach with his tvdimes phone case money.. Not sure if Rosier cuts it but Rosier is affiliated with bigger national qb coach (is is Avery?)

Lashlee still puts up points but I hate that it took him soooooooo long to hit FSU weakness and get TVD in rhythm. Broadcast said they bracketed Rambo but film shows we should have been raping them with Rooster early.. A bunch of teams hit HUGE plays with their backs and TE against FSU all season from ND, Syracuse, NCST, etc. People want to hype Smith but he not ready for these games, couldnt separate and bunch of drops in tight coverage.. If you not gonna move Rambo around and "feed the studs" without letting Defense dictate, you need to make them pay with a weapon like Rooster, I dont care about balance, he should of had 10 catches in first half of need be.. We had options but seemed to think we could get ball to smith?

-Going into game, Rooster should of been on alert he would be major part of passing game, film said thats where you make money..

-Move Rambo around, leaving him stationary and making it easy for Defense to dictate your offense is not good.. Rambo showed in 2nd half when he got passes thrown his way he was ready for moment and made most of his opportunities regardless of how tight coverage was..

-Screens, screens, screens should have been used as film has shown good results, to rooster, to Mallory, to whoever.. Especially with Dline teeing off early and Jarrid having his hands full all night.

-Have a game plan in place if #11 is wrecking **** like he was, dude was all over and made Jarrid do a freaking spin move he put him in a blender..
re Rambo- LSU showed a blue print, put the guy outside, motion him inside, run the same chit you would if he started inside and vice versa. It's just a way to make DB's over think and you know your route anyway / QB reads don't change. But they stuck Rambo outside and made it easy on FSU.

re the RB as an outlet- I don't get it... dude can't block / is an explosive plays guy... why have him in blocking when you know he's 150# and throws a chicken wing?! Use Arroyo for that job.

re balance- balance a natty or two and then we can worry about some "balanced" attack. Take what's open and the data will fall in place later.

I can see what you're saying.

We spotted them 17 unanswered. We lost by less than that. Asking this defense to play a perfect game essentially after that is a lot. Bottomline is that the defense played well enough to win without all the offensive mistakes.
