TVD

Of course he's the guy. He knows how to bounce back from slow starts, plays with confidence. I like him a lot.

My brother (an fsu fan) texted me saying "Wow your QB is really good" a couple minutes later he texts me "wow this FSU guy can't throw at all"

ahahahaha

he them texted me a video of the 4th and 14, and was like " looks like you guys were playing with 8 guys on that play"
While I agree on TVD, I'm not so sure why your bro would be texting that Travis can't throw at all when he looked pretty accurate all night - 18-26 - had a couple of misses where his receivers messed up.

I think it's also a testament to the talent around him. He did all that and missed a few more long *** TDs, can't do that if the receivers weren't getting open.
True but it's more of testament to talent advantage we had on FSU and we still f****** loss. 🤦🏾‍♂️😩😭

FSU’s dbs were playing blanket coverage and he missed some throws down field and still threw for 300. He’s a stud but will be wasted at Miami. It’s the Miami way
A merely competent D and he's not wasted in Miami, even with a Lashlee at OC.

Mechanics were not his friend and he had quite a few bad balls and yet he still played more than good enough to win. This team just cannot survive him being anything but great with how bad we are in the other phases. Seems like the type of guy who will be fueled to throw for 500 next week

You need to get a clue. One of his interceptions was when Harley got the ball taken away from him going to the ground. The other interception he threw the ball too short which was a mistake. He needed to miss long on that play.. Neither was agredgious.

He still had a 4 TD to 2 int ratio. WTF is your problem?
You’re the one creating a problem. If I have a problem it’s posters who can’t have a fair discussion or make every thread about the coaching or the program. Both are happening in this thread, as usual.

TVDs started about 6 games. We’re 3-3 and he’s looked really good for large parts of those 6 games. In the 3 losses, he had some bad turnovers. He’s missed some throws really badly. He’s also rebounded and adjusted in each of those games.

Not sure what the debate is about. I don’t see posters blaming TVD or calling for his head.

He seems like one of those kids that just plays better on game day

Instead of shelling up he opens it up and has more confidence

You can’t teach that
yep, the way he turned his performance around yesterday, on the road, more proof of that quality. he was playing like dog**** to start. he knew 62 couldn't block 11, and lashley wasn't going to give 62 any help. rambo went missing for a half. etc. dude still rallied the team on the road in a rivalry game, which we would've won but for manny.

He needs to put in a lot of work with a QB coach during the offseason. His mechanics are terrible, as many have pointed out, and he needs to learn how to play within a pocket. I have been as critical as anyone of him, yet I think he's the first guy we've had in 15+ years who has a chance to be an elite college quarterback. Despite his struggles, I wanted the ball in his hands on that 4th down to end the game. I was confident he would deliver. Instead, we punted.

He's watched Travis all year...... Travis started hot, cooled off, then heated back up in crunch time. Manny's defense kind of made him look like Mahomes.

My brother also isnt that bright, he is a FSU fan afterall

How is your brother possibly an FSU fan?
Both of my brothers are......... I honestly think they just wanted to be opposite of me when I started cheering for Miami way back in '83.... By '86 they were cheering for FSU.

Love the CIS crowning of NFL after less than two years of college game experience by leaving after his RS Soph year.

TVD is good. Really good. He might have a breakout Soph year but that doesn’t mean he’ll be ready for the NFL. Play two more years. Become a record breaker, game winner, championship caliber leader with big time wins and then talk about the NFL.

This site, fans, just calm down a bit and enjoy.

He's gotta loosen up his feet faster, but I understand his inexperience. If I were him, I'd ask to get punched in the gut prior to the game. Once he gets moving (his feet), he's a different QB. Early on, those feet were in cement. He missed a couple throws that should have been 6. You can tell simply by how and when he climbs the pocket. Pure ladder drills this spring and summer - hopefully under a new coaching staff and culture.

I would have still put the ball in his hands on that late 3rd and short. Let him hit a quick route in the middle of the field (out of an empty set) OR run it. He's a gamer. Leave the ball in his hands.

I agree Lu.

Coach Cozza was a big beleiver in ladder drills (among others.)

If i am his coach, and I’d love to get back in the action and work with him if i could, I’m doing ladder drills with him until his ankles fall off.

The kid is the total package, it’s all there to be developed.

All in on TVD, and Garcia. This is why the new HC or his OC needs to be someone with a track record of developing QBs

Second half TVD showed back up. He is good, and will be really good if he continues to develop, but there is no excusing his first half performance yesterday. Like I said after the UNC game, you can’t win games when your QB only shows up to play half the game. No matter how bad the other team is.
Up 8 with 5 minutes despite the first half. He brought them back.

I believe it was the first completion to Rambo finally at the start of the second half from opposite hash to sideline deep in our own territory of course. Than, when he climbed the pocket and broke right and threw a bullet dime for a first down to Rambo again. Those 2 throws are big leagues. He attacks all areas of the field, he is the only reason we have a respectable offense currently. 0 running game. He had a tough 26mins of the first half and than took the game over until the coaches took the ball out of his hands the last 2 possessions. I love everything about his game.

could say alot - but will only say this...needs a good coach and needs an OC that understands how to consistently maximize what he's got.
i'm a fan of the kid.
The OC just got him another 300 yard passing effort. Only one other QB in ACC history has done that 4 weeks in a row. Lashlee is letting TVD rip it all over the field. How is he holding him back?

Liked the way he got up off the canvass after that first quarter and led the team back, on the road.

TVD is good, but let’s not write off Garcia just yet. Garcia is also the real deal. I want to see an open competition for starting QB, and if TVD beats out Garcia, then fine. No starting job should be a given on a 5-5 team. Every position should be competed for and won

pretty sure the job is tvds. Outside of hs stars, Garcia hasn’t shown anything smd has been hurt

Up 8 with 5 minutes despite the first half. He brought them back.
What’s your point? We should’ve been up by double digits, if the first half wasn’t a sh*t show. I said the loss wasn’t his fault, but he’s not absolved of any criticism. He turned the ball over three times.
