TVD Is Coming Back

So the real question is how is TVD going to look in Arroyos offense?

Don't kid yourself, you know Mario wants his old OC who had the Ducks offense around the top 15.
I don’t believe that.
I think Mario will bring someone in who can let TVD play loose AND get the run game going. Been seeing a few names around.

If the Gattis to Iowa news is true we should hear something soon

Gattis to Iowa? Same capacity? some other coach would really look to hire this dude?

I tend to think they started Brown over Garcia due to what Mario steadfastly believes. Get the ground game going and the passing game will free up. So insert Brown, let him pound the rock some, and the passing lanes will open up for him.
The only problem, they underestimated how poor of a passer he is. Also, out OL isn't consistent or good enough to pound the rock in any capacity so teams didn't need to sell out to stop the run. They just played even, let our OL do its thing, and problem solved defensively.

You can free up the running game by having a good passing attack. That truth is lost on this staff, but an even bigger issue was the stability and inconsistency of the line. Long *** developing passing plays don't work for us.

**** was a mess.

I did see a few days ago Walter football had him with a 2nd-4th round grade and said pro sources like his instincts and feel as a passer

Hahaha wow. He doesn’t know how to slide in the pocket at all. I don’t think he would go before the 5th and might be as late as a 7th. He has a lot to prove in my opinion. He can’t read defenses

Now hearing Garcia is also coming back. I dont know what to make of it. Rumor also Gattis to Iowa.
And of course your source for this incredible rumor is??? I heard a rumor that every post you have made was just make believe

Garcia is coming back, and rightfully so. The job is his after TVD leaves, and twice (!) in the last season he had to step in for TVD when he got hurt.

Basically, he’s more or less guaranteed a starting role in 2024 and beyond, and is a snap away from getting that role in 2023, behind a quarterback with injury issues.

Definitely the right call.
I don’t think the job is his. Everyone expected Garcia to leave and he was even supported on his way out. He decided to stay which surprised many people.

I think he can read defenses. He played in a pro style in hs.. I just think he was used to lashlee system where u get the ball out much quicker and he would have the ability to dump off to a rb if nothing was there.

In gattis terrible offense there was a lot of slow developing plays and never had a safety valve to dump it off too. Then I don’t think he trusted guys to just throw it and give them a chance

And they acknowledged some of his weaknesses like not being great laterally but having some straight line ability. They compared him to trask but feels he has a bigger arm. Trask went 2nd round

They probably run the closest to a 1960s offense than any other school. Ferentz is a Belichick disciple and runs an old Patriots style. FYI, Eagles won last week with 355 yards rushing.

Seeing what we have in Garcia and Brown, I’m happy TVD is coming back but we still need a very good portal QB to challenge Tyler. Nobody should feel comfortable moving forward

Holy cow if gattits went to Iowa that would be so funny. I think our offense was the only offense that was close to their as far as crappy offense goes

https://nflmocks.com/2022/10/04/2023-nfl-draft-tyler-van-dyke/

"I still believe that Tyler van Dyke is a draftable prospect, just not on the first two days of the draft. I think that he is best suited to being a late-round selection that can take the field if there is an injury or in the dying seconds of a game that is incredibly one-sided.

Having said that, we are only in week five of the CFB season and still have a long way to go before draft day, so everything could change either for the better or for the worse."
the most idiotic evaluation and not cause its negative of him. Its the ending which implies, "hey we are only in week 5 but if he has 5-6 good games and they win, he'll be an early pick". You either think he is good, has the right mechanics, projects well.....or not.

I suspect Arroyo will get a call.
