TVD Is Coming Back

His realistic option? Don’t go pro, enter the portal and immediately be the most sought after prospect to enter. That’s not me fan boying for him teams were hoping and praying he wanted out. There’s a certain team who doesn’t have a guaranteed starter and might miss the playoffs for the first time in a while for sure I’ve heard would have called.
Fair, and I appreciate your perspective and the insider tidbit. Again, all of it seemed like it could have been a gamble TO ME, going pro or not, even hitting the portal. Playoff teams will most likely not only bring TVD in if they’re in need of a “take them over the top qb,“ they’d work to bring in another potential starter correct? Maybe TVD is a bonafide starter on a playoff team in need of a QB but there are some areas that may be questioned such as injury/recovery and maybe even some bad throws and slow starts? just some thoughts man, thanks for feedback.

Maye averaged 36 passes per game this season.

Sam Howell averaged 29 last year.

Sorry, you're incorrect. Longo is a football coach, first and foremost. He calls his offense the best way in order to win games. Remember who was the OC for UNC when they ran for 550 yards on us in 2020?

UNC's running game wasn't very good this season, but they were Top 20 in rushing yards per game both of the last 2 years. Dude is just a great coach, period. He doesn't have some agenda where he wants to throw it 50 times a game, that's completely incorrect. He runs the ball very efficiently and very often, if/when the situation dictates it.
If it’s a rotator cuff or labrum and bad enough to where it needs surgery then worst case he would miss most of spring but be back by summer and fall camp no doubt

Maybe it’s something else but when I saw it reminded me of when I tore my labrum and rotator cuff back in the day
Is it ac joint? I thought I heard somebody mention it during the game.

Inb4 this twilight episode continues and no announcement is ever made and Gattis just shows up to spring practice to continue business as usual.

I think more like he is not coming back. Gattis' offense crushed TVD's draft chances this year.
TVD found his groove after the MTSU once they changed the offense. Idk just seems like a QB in his final season before the draft wouldn’t want to learn a 3rd new offense in 3 years.

Look at TVD's stats in the UNC and VT games which were after the meeting with Gattis and Ponce.

We didn't have the personnel to run the Michigan offense. It's just a bad fit. It doesn't make it dog ****.

For most of the season, we were able to move the ball between the 20's. We couldn't get TDs in the redzone and goaline. We couldn't run the ball in the redzone or goaline. To a fault Gattis didn't adjust his redzone play calling. He just kept trying to run the ball with backup linemen.

If we had the Michigan offensive line, we'd score more points than they do because we have a better QB.
UNC = loss. Why? Cause his RZ offense is dog ****. Who cares about TVDs stats if they still lose?

The fact that it took a loss to MTSU to prompt a meeting with your QB and QB coach is fireable by itself.

So this offense only works with an NFL caliber line, 2 first round picks at RB and a stud QB. Guess what else works with that? Anything you want to run.

Maybe his offense isn’t dog ****. But he’s dog **** for thinking he could run it with our players.

Agreed. @Katzenboyer I don't know that Mario cares about labels. I just think he wants an offensive coordinator that can and will run the ball. I think UNC has been a very well-balanced offense with a fairly physical running game. I think Longo checks that box. I think this is wishful thinking anyways.

There are plenty of OCs out there who run systems that you can learn quickly. That’s what lashlee had. Some of these OCs don’t even have playbooks
If he was fine with learning a new system wouldn’t he just hit the portal and go to a team with the best offense to improve his draft stock? Who knows honestly I don’t have information and have no clue if Gattis is staying or leaving. I’m just saying on the surface it looks like he’s coming back.

I understand your view. But I’m leaning the other way. I think he was assured gattis gone. Gattis offense is not friendly to QBs
