Have said it for weeks. Best case scenario is TVD back for 2023 and Brown redshirts. He has a real shot to be an elite player by 2024 if he improves as a passer.

And then you also throw Emory, and any additional 2023 or 2024 kid into that mix.

This is fantastic news for the program. I’m not giving up on Brown at all but he has a very long road to be a championship level QB. Giving him an extra year of runway and having him as a redshirt Sophomore in 2024 would be huge.

CS are the same idiots that were doing their normal fake news naming all the schools he was hearing from and was could be gone . I said that was bs the entire time. He was never leaving or close to leaving.
That's good to hear. I hope Jake comes back, too. A different OC would REALLY help him. Kid is tough, gives a lot of effort, and if he ever establishes himself as a quality college starter, I think he'd magnify the whole team. He was still trying to fire up the D in the Pitt game.

Only 3 qbs on the roster for 2023....assuming Garcia leaves. One more has to get picked up.

Van Dyke, Brown redshirts, Williams redshirts

Tyler wasnt ever leaving the first place so he’s wrong if he says that. He’s not wrong that programs were looking but that’s a given
They were writing their normal bs like they did with the Manny drama before Mario then the Mario drama the Sunday before he signed . Total garbage. I have a poster that’s been pm’ing me his articles the last couple years and this guy is on one with his fiction writing

Which TVD? Pre-Gattis or Post-Gattis?
It doesn't matter. After his meeting with Gattis and Ponce, he threw for 498 and 351 in consecutive weeks prior to his injury.

If not injured, TVD likely would have thrown for over 300 yards in 8 consecutive games in the Gattis offense.

The one downside to replacing Gattis is everyone has to learn a new playbook. Not a reason to keep Gattis, but it's just one more thing making it harder for the offense.

I'm a Philadelphia Eagles fan. When they drafted Jalen Hurts, I didn't even think he was an NFL caliber QB. In watching their game a few weeks ago, an announcer said this is the 1st year where Jalen Hurts has the same OC for more than 1 year since high school. Hurts said he's extremely comfortable with the offense in year 2 of his current OC. He's now playing as well as any top QB in the league.

Constantly changing OC's affects development and continuity. A new OC would be the 4th in TVD's career at UM.

I think Longo is a pipe dream, but out of curiosity, why do you think that offense conflicts with Mario's?

Longo is an Air Raid practitioner. Mario wants to pound the ball between the tackles.

There's a reason Mario's first two calls for college OCs were Kendall Briles and Tommy Rees. Both of those guys are much more "power spread" disciples that use power running to open up the passing game, as opposed to vice versa. Longo wants to throw the ball 40-50 times a game; Mario had Justin Herbert in 2019 and he averaged 31 attempts per game. It's just not what he's comfortable doing.

I think it’s safe to say he got his assurances. There’s an SEC and an ACC school in Carolina that would’ve killed for him.

Maye averaged 36 passes per game this season.

Sam Howell averaged 29 last year.

Sorry, you're incorrect. Longo is a football coach, first and foremost. He calls his offense the best way in order to win games. Remember who was the OC for UNC when they ran for 550 yards on us in 2020?

UNC's running game wasn't very good this season, but they were Top 20 in rushing yards per game both of the last 2 years. Dude is just a great coach, period. He doesn't have some agenda where he wants to throw it 50 times a game, that's completely incorrect. He runs the ball very efficiently and very often, if/when the situation dictates it.
