Tulane's #1 Choice Is Dawson

He and his wife are very close to Jason Taylor and his wife.

Have heard they love living down there.
Always gonna have talent. OL will be good. Not a whole lot will be expected of him recruiting wise if Mario is HC. There’s definitely some positives with this job. At the bare minimum he can be incredibly picky if he wanted to ever leave.

I’d pay whatever for Dawson to continue being at Miami. He’s changed things for us since he’s been here and I like how candid he is
tbh, he is not THAT candid when he says he was calling the say plays, but he lied when he failed to give context to the same plays he is calling (formations, timing, sequencing, players etc.).

it's like saying that i have the same wrap with chics that i had 40 years ago, but now i have money and experience, timing., confidence and know how to deliver it, but it is the same wrap.

Dawson has one of the cushiest jobs in the world.

I'm not saying he won't ever take a HC job, everyone is driven differently, maybe he really wants to do that. But leaving ~$2M a year living in Miami with virtually zero responsibilities except calling an offense with elite athletes that are given to you to take ~$3M to live in some buttass town with a billion responsibilities and infinitely more stress seems utterly insane.

Dawson ****es me off a lot. I think our Run Gameplan with Bkm + Mirabal is never gunna change therefore we will always need an elite gunslinger/playmaker type of QB. So that is a negative..

HOWEVER I think odds are FAR higher Mario hires a WORSE OC than a better OC than Dawson. And for that reason I will continue thinking keeping Dawson is the better move. Secondly his offense is PERFECT for Toney, who we will have 2 more years.

having dawson here would be another plus i would think in getting a top portal qb to come here. They may want to consider how well cam ward and carson beck have resurrected their careers here.

And unless his personality attracts so many college girls that his wife will kick his butt - he won't leave.

I'm ready to move on. Like him a lot but he way took to long to adapt this year and it cost us.
Not sure he has the mentality to be a HC but I'll root for him.
I still don't believe it was all him. After I saw Dawson yelling at Mario after getting stuffed again up the middle vs SMU, we have had a completely different offense. I sometimes wonder if Mario and his idea of the superiority of a caveman offense (up the middle against a stacked box) over creativity and deception was the problem. I may be wrong. It's happened once or twice before.
