Another Arkansas Coach from the Todd Graham disciple Tree.

He'd be a great hire, but he wouldn't come here to have Mirabal dictating the run scheme. He's a Veer & Shoot guy, no way would he be on board with implementing our power run system.

And you can't run the Faulkner Valdosta ST Power-Pistol unless we get a run first mobile QB. Unfortunately, most of the mobile QB's that would be available aren't that great of passers.

That's a complete philosophical overhaul that would envelop the entire offseason installing & would likely lead to setbacks during the season. Everybody's all hot & heavy over Brent Key now, but people forget he was barely floating above .500 before this season. It would take several years to convert the identity of our Offense to effectively transition to that style of play.

Pringle has the best vision of any RB on the team. Add in his acceleration and balance and you now see IZ runs that went for 2-3 yards before going for 5-6 (or more) yards. Fletcher and Marty are key parts of this team, but I think it's so important that Pringle came on when he did.
 
If Dawson were to leave, I would call Nick Rolovich.

Marry his pass game prowess with Mario/Mirabal run game and it’s a match made in heaven.

Problem is, them all being able withstand each other’s philosophy and approach could clash. Stubbornness, if any, aside would WRECK college football.

Doubt Mario would go for it as Rolovich is a Run-N-Shoot guy where he prefers 4 and 5 wide sets with pistol formation. But if he’s willing to partially adapt and lean more into the run game like he did at Nevada and evolve from that with the OLine Mario will provide. One can dream right

Gotcha so yeah probably not a fit. Clearly if Dawson leaves we need someone who can take full advantage of our OLine and ability to get Qb 1-3 available in portal yearly. No point in picking an OC who doesn't maximize that. For instance With the like Heupel/Golesh style offense I don't think it fully maximizes Qb, it more tries to get a great result regardless the qb imo....

I was more commenting about Faulkner just cause I think some big program will end up hiring him as OC from GTech - maybe UF with Sumrall tbh.

I'd probably just want someone in a similar tree... Id guess the top options would probably be Graham Harrell, Seth Litrell, Jake Spavital, Sonny Cumbie (and tony franklin) if he's on hot seat at LaTech, Kendal Briles etc, or even just dana holgorson from Nebraska... But most of them are fully more air raid there...

The conundrum with wheoever the next potential OC will be, is dealing with the Mirabal factor.

If Mirabal continues to have significant input on the run game & offensive personnel in general, it won't really matter who the OC is, the same problems will exist.

*Just like you need to keep Rohan Marley from recruits...keep dorsey away from here as an oc.

EDIT: Oops, sorry, I thought the reference was to Dawson.
Cade Bell would make a lot of sense for uf, and he may able to bring the Pitt QB with him.

Are we still planning on the "avoid negative plays at almost any cost" approach? If so, I pray Dawson sticks around. He seems like the only dude who's able to at least sometimes work around the constraint.

The sheer risk of finding someone else to "blend in" legitimate passing concepts with a system **** bent on a conservative, predictable [run] foundation is just bad math.
 
Until he is actually offered the job I wont bother speculating too much. I actually think Huff is a super underrated option for them. But we will see how it plays out. I definitely agree if i were Shannon and they offered me the gig I would take it. Hoping he stays so it doesn't negatively impact our portal Qb search.

I 100% agree with that...only thing is that in a year when you will need to get a portal QB you want the OC in place. Can't risk being left with nobody if we dont have the OC in place.
