Tulane's #1 Choice Is Dawson

With the talent Mario has established, Dawson is probably the floor as to where the offense will rank on a week to week basis.

This year we returned the entire OL.
Very good RB and added solid RBs to the roster.
Best FR WR.
And an upper tier QB with tons of experience.

You’re not going to have a bad offense with that level of talent.

Latest SP+ has the offense 18th in the country.

Dawson isn’t doing anything the replacement OC wouldn’t do.

Why not Buster Faulkner from GT???

That’s the first name that popped into my head.

Philosophically he’s exactly what Mario likes.
Physical.
Grind it out and wear you down.
Lots of high % throws. His offenses rank very low in average depth per throw.

It’s not what I would want. But it’s probably the best we are doing to do within Mario’s preferred philosophy on offense.

What if Mario just calls plays

Listen. He has the GT offense averaging 33 a game. You average 33 a game then you’re alright with me.

Me and you have the same rational.

The running game is the exact same.

The only thing that changed is the personnel.
when the running back is able to sink a foot in the ground and find space, rather than barrelling in full speed, head long, consequences be damned into anez coopers butt, the 9 yard to 15 yard carries accumulate.

Wrong. He didn't threaten that frontside edge defender which allowed them to crash down and make the play. So you're partly right in the fact that we were played mostly 12 personnel early on. Now we're in more 11 with the threat of Mali to hold that frontside edge. Ask Lance
I don't need to ask Lance anything I watch the games with my own eyes & know exactly what I'm seeing.

The difference between the run game recently vs the early part of the season is that we have a more dynamic RB in the backfield with more speed & quicker feet who understands how to properly adjust & find the correct running lane.

The reason why we played so much 12 was because we had no choice with the rush front due to the fact Fletch & Brown are slow as sh*t & have no shifitiness.

Because we now have a more dynamic back, we don't need the extra TE & can use MToney as a true Y putting him in motion checks to pull that extra Defender out of the Box.

When Fletch is your RB1, all your run plays are tipped & all the Defense has to do is follow the presnap TE shift.

Yes, but isn't a lot of their offense based on the running ability of Haynes King?

@Memnon Any opinion on Landon Keopple?

I imagine Buster Faulkner is going to be the top OC target for most schools (like Oregon given they are losing Stein, also think Oregon may hire Wilcox as DC).
