Al Golden does not want wild agressive playmakers...
He wants nice kids that do what they are told.
I guess I don;t really feel like I've seen this amazing body of work from AQM to date either. Don't get me wrong..he should be the horse you roll with but I don't think anyone here has a whole lot of evidence to say AQM is a beast beyond his build.
AQM will get his reps...and if it turns out the reps are about the same, who cares? someone has to start. they can't play them all at the same time.

Name one defensive lineman at Miami that has looked anything remotely close to "good". Coaching is murdering these kids' NFL stock, just ask Chick what he and his fam thinks of Golden.

I said nothing about Trent's ability or potential. This is way bigger than just one kid getting PT over another; this scheme systematically sabotages these kids' potential future earnings by putting them in disadvantageous positions over and over and over. It's a joke, except nobody is laughing.

Muhammad sports the shinier pedigree. The production? That’s about the same. It’s Harris, however, who has the better “process.”
“Trent was one of our most reliable players on defense a year ago,” said coach Al Golden, who praised Harris for his error-free play then and continues to do so. “He plays the defense exact every play.”
“He’s done nothing but get better since he got here,” defensive coordinator Mark D’Onofrio said. “He improved his speed. Again, what he does at an elite level is he does his job. That’s what he does elite. Ultimately that’s what you want. If you have a guy who runs a 4.5 but doesn’t play the defense, all you have is a guy that runs 4.5. You don’t have a good player. Trent’s a really good player.”

I'm telling you, Golden is sabotaging himself.
He doesn't want to be here anymore, but he wants as many excuses as possible at the end of the season to justify his ****ty record.
He's throwing mud against a wall, with the hope that something will stick and parlay it into another job at a mediocre program.
I think there's even more to this. It's not so much that is sabotaging himself. I think that Golden knows what Golden knows....it's what he was brought up on and it's really the only thing he will be able to move forward with. Knowing his roots and likely future destinations (midwest, east coast, lower expectation programs), it really does make sense in his mind to "stay the course" and continue to be the tyoe of coach we apparently all hate.....because that's the type of coach that those new potential schools love love love!!! It would also explain his virtual zero tolerance policy with any negative incidents, etc.
I've said it before and I'll say it again....you guys need to be flying the banner to fire the BOT and the ADMINS..fire the AD. THESE are the same guys who are going to hire your next coach too..don't forget! They hired the last 2 idiots!!!
I've grown weary of kicking around Golden...he really is just what he is...and unfortunately for us all it's HIS bosses that have knowingly saddled us with him. I'd love to see you all turn that venom where it truly belongs.
Only in this crappy defense can a kid be considered "elite" yet be invisible on the field. I really like Harris and think he can be a baller in an aggressive scheme. But in this scheme? He's invisible.
Your missing the point..... Coach up the phucking hare...and get that tortoise out of my phucking face..thats why you are paid millions of dollarsThat would be funnier if the tortoise had not won that race.![]()
"Even though he runs a 2 minute 40, and covers under his shell when faced with adversity...The tortoise doesnt makes mistakes and does what he is supposed to do thats why Im starting him"-Donofrio
The main question you have to ask yourself is why the guy that runs the 4.5 can't do his job? It's probably because the guys running the team aren't doing theirs.
