What is your angle? Are you implying he played poorly before Miami? Or are you ignoring how terrible our opponents were in that 2 year stretch?Explain 2023
…what? We’re talking about receivers. What is your angle? Are you implying he played poorly before Miami? Or are you ignoring how terrible our opponents were in that 2 year stretch?
Be more specific, we had a wr drafted high?Explain 2023
Be more specific? Your rebuttal to someone pointing out Beard developed a bunch of non-NFL guys into a championship level group was that it was all Cam, I pointed out they produced nearly the same numbers the year before with a steaming pile of **** at QB, you said it was still Cam, and when I asked you to explain the prior year you’re now talking about the draft, which has nothing to do with what Beard has done from a developmental standpoint.Be more specific, we had a wr drafted high?
The nfl thought exactly like I did, that Cam was number one while our “developed” WRs got drafted where? Exactly where they tested
And those WRs are fully developed I agree but they are what they are and our scheddy they should eat
I get what you meanBe more specific? That specific enough?
I’m totally fine with bashing his recruiting of the 5 stars but nothing gets under my skin like people using completely unrelated arguments and acting like they got someone. Nothing being discussed here has anything to do with the ******* draft.I get what you mean
People were hating on Horton and then he made them forget Colby Young pretty quickly
Say what you want about George but he was about one step away from being off the team. Ended up with a good career here
Dawson helped. Cam helped. But if we aren’t gonna give credit to the WR coach for the wide receivers producing and rarely dropping passes then when can we give them credit?
I understand the more with less mantra and I won't argue against crediting KB with WRs improving. My gripe is the lack of star power. It's selfish, but I grew up in era of household names across the field. I've come to terms that it wont ever be like that again, but having Day 1 picks improved your recruiting and increases school exposure. If we win without it I'll change my tune.I’m totally fine with bashing his recruiting of the 5 stars but nothing gets under my skin like people using completely unrelated arguments and acting like they got someone. People don't comprehend the production he got out of that room. I literally the reason we had the best offense in the country outside of cam obviously is wide receiver production and yes you can say wide receiver production was because of Cam but I mean he didn't have that when he was that any of his other stops. Wide receivers developed significantly got to start giving coaches credit for that instead of ****ting on them The same people were saying the same **** when Kim kinchens was a first team all-American, Where's our development... Meanwhile motger****er the man was just a first team all-American. Seems like a whole lot of development.I agree but I'm in the vast minority. It's like people want to project other team deficiencies onto Beard. Our WR room was good enough to win the whole **** thing and none of them were NFL types. Didn't even get drafted. And that's a fireable offense?
But that's the point it's not elite recruiters that bring the talent especially not anymore. It's elite circumstances that get the elite recruits. It's checking off each and every box or as many as possible and it starts with NIL it starts with your teammates it starts with your coaches developing you so it's hypocritical for people not to recognize that. As far as us it's very different it and it's very hard to say who would have made the money grab and who wouldn't have The majority of us had opportunities where if it was strictly about the money we would have done it because that's been going on far before NIL if we wanted to get money it would have been pretty simple. But it's very different the circumstances now. This money that's being offered to kids it's life-changing. What gets us to this point is confidence is genetics is work ethic but most of it's a whole lot of luck. So if you get the opportunity to not have to gamble as much anymore it's hard not to take it. As I've said numerous times I despise what NIL has made college sports now but I'm not a liar either what I have loved to be in the same circumstance **** yes I would have and anyone that says different it's just full of ****. Who wouldn't want to be handed millions and millions of dollars straight out of high school or in certain instances while you're still in high school. We won't get into the rest of that conversation with what it does to you moving forward cuz that's a whole other thing.Bruh I agree it’s fair the TRob thing. But you can’t tell me the dogs you played with, if they were born today they would take the money. You have to get the top talent. You know this. If not you won’t win a natty period. Everyone knows this. Until that starts happening it’s mediocre or winning the acct or appearing in the acc title game. Or coming up short, that will be the pattern. And that’s not good enough for Miami, it just isn’t. I would replace him imo but that’s just me regardless of what anyone says. I won’t change that stance, I want an elite recruiter there that can bring the top talent and keep them here.
Agree. And I don’t think we should be in a place where we’re having to do more with less. But I think of all the positions wide receiver is near the top of those that a good coach can squeeze production out of a not NFL talented room. I’d rather last year’s receiver room than go back to the days of 6’2 285 across the o-line lolI understand the more with less mantra and I won't argue against crediting KB with WRs improving. Apparently no one gets credit for 10 wins last yr except Cam, he was opening up holes , dragging defenders 20 yards into the endzone, & making 4th down conversions lying on his back all by himself.......I get what you mean

Then if we cant spend we will never be anything, I mean that's just the fact though. Lets cut straight to the chase then. We cant be what we once were in this new build of CFBBut that's the point it's not elite recruiters that bring the talent especially not anymore. It's elite circumstances that get the elite recruits. individually a lot of the wrs increased their stock sh **** near X broke every **** record and went undrafted. Was he under developed? Nah he was maxed out developed he just doesn't have those elite gifts, we need to get guys with elite gifts and develop them.Be more specific? Your rebuttal to someone pointing out Beard developed a bunch of non-NFL guys into a championship level group was that it was all Cam, I pointed out they produced nearly the same numbers the year before with a steaming pile of **** at QB, you said it was still Cam, and when I asked you to explain the prior year you’re now talking about the draft, which has nothing to do with what Beard has done from a developmental standpoint.

That's simply stating the obvious. College sports aren't built anymore to where you can genuinely compete for a national championship yearly. That's not about what you spend. It's about if you're spending the same thing that the other big dogs are but they're genuinely built to compete at that level annually than what do you think a kid should prioritize? You have to give kids the same checklist to expect to be in those decisions. This isn't about spending. It's about personal decisions. Then if we cant spend we will never be anything, I mean that's just the fact though. Lets cut straight to the chase then. We cant be what we once were in this new build of CFB
I see your point but did “spending” hinder us last year? Then if we cant spend we will never be anything, I mean that's just the fact though. Lets cut straight to the chase then. We cant be what we once were in this new build of CFB
Our we didn't get drafted like that because of their measurables. Because of what they run. It's actually far more impressive the results he got out of that room considering the limitations of the players that were in it...Be more specific, we had a wr drafted high?

I agree we have completely whiffed on the Star/truly elite prospects - Out of HS and ESPECIALLY out of the portal. But we have got pretty great production out of WR these last 2 seasons AND if you just look at our projected 3 year WR haul, it's pretty **** good/great. Its definitely missing a 3 and done legit 1st rounder guy (I mean maybe someone in this group can be that like Trader, but obviously no Jeremiah Smith in this group), but you absolutely take a 3 year haul of: Jojo Trader, Malachi Toney, Ny Carr, Joshua Moore, Chance Robinson, Vance Spafford, Somourian Wingo, Daylyn Upshaw, Tyran Evans. Like that is at minimum an A- type of haul. And if you added just 1 5star to that 3 year haul, I think it's probably about as good of a WR haul we could hope for tbh. I think we need to get a 5star Wr every 3 years, but with the exception of that, this WR haul is pretty **** legit.I understand the more with less mantra and I won't argue against crediting KB with WRs improving. My gripe is the lack of star power. It's selfish, but I grew up in era of household names across the field.
