Does he have to graduate in May? It's not ideal, but he could take a class or two in a summer session.

I would think he could take classes over the summer and play in the fall.

Maryland is the Apex Destination for top football players - but they can only have 85 on their rooster - so the Alabama's, Clemson's, OSU's, Georgia's, and other teams have to scratch for those Maryland can't take.
