Trevon hill calling out the fans

You obviously never played competitive football.
It can be one of the toughest, most brutal sports on the planet. Anyone who thinks otherwise probably spends too much time behind a keyboard.

Go Canes!!!!!!!

Wrong. I played football for about 10 years. I boxed for even longer and boxing schits on football as far as brutality/toughness.

I’m going to jump on the side of @OriginalGatorHater here.

OGH is talking mindset this team has none but showing up with the U on there helmets that’s it in a short.

when a play falls into our laps accidentally we stand over the accident as if we made the kill when really they messed up not us doing a killer play.

This team is empty of the Legacy our elders try to show them this is the fault

When the players get defensive about losing to FIU, it's warranted.
I get that viewpoint for sure , i just feel we have much more pressing issues that need to be addressed than a tweet by a player though. To each their own though

As much as we rag on Diaz, he is right that we have a culture issue. We're an arrogant time that has done nothing to warrant its level of arrogance. The problem with Diaz is, he's directly responsible for this culture that he has established.

The tweet by Hill is merely a microcosm of the underlying culture issues that are still present with this program. Hence, why fans are coming at him.

Im 38 and am disgusted with almost every male my age and younger. I’d rather be 87 and have less than a year left than 20 and going to school at Berkeley.

I was born way too late.

I'd rather be 20...and transfer to Arizona State.

Do i think fans put far too much into sports? Absolutely. Some of the crap they do and/or write, like the death threats and personal attacks on kids is ridiculous. If sports consumes your life that much there's counseling for that and more hobbies needed. I become miserable after losses like the rest but then move on with real life and stop caring.

That said, for a kid...who was already kicked off another team for behavior....to come at fans and tell them to sit their @sses down because they don't play? Man you are asking for a WHOLE lot of trouble and blowback. You should be embarrassed by what just happened. You should post things about righting the ship or working hard so this doesn't happen again. You should acknowledge it was a miserable loss and can't be accepted. Or how about you don't post AT ALL. Instead you're defensive, after doing something stupid on the field and shrugging off your coach....and not impacting the game in a positive way at all. And ok, so he doesn't respect fans, not uncommon.....does he not respect Manny bc he didn't play either? Good luck in the real world with that attitude. I doubt the CEO of my company ever walking in my shoes either. If i was in charge and a kid did that to me? He's be suspended the next game and running gassers all week.

I agree.
I'm not apologizing for the guy but he's probably getting hit 24/7 on social media and he finally popped.
1 tweet and he's got over 100 responses on here alone.
It's a no win sitchy.

He should take the advice of another VT alum and HOFer....
When you win, say little.
When you lose, say less.

He was defending his teammate Holley, because all the fans were going at him for dancing while we were down. He went about it the wrong way, but I guarantee you his teammates saw that and loved that he has the young guys backs.

Perhaps Mr. Hill might do well to remember that he just got a free college education along with room, board, and a shot at the NFL because of the fans he just told to sit down.
Judging by reading his post I'm going to say he didn't exactly take advantage of that free college education. Or 3rd grade education for that matter.

From the way he played against FIU, he’s never strapped on a helmet either. At least not the one Jerome Brown wore. I hope he doesn’t end up playing for the Iggles. Philly fans will boo him out of the Linc the first time he half-azzes it.

Our young ward Trevon is getting an education, however difficult it may be. Miami is not a college town, like Blacksburg, its a pro town. This is what he can expect if he gets drafted. Personally, I have a problem with booing college kids or even “the team” I wont do it. The kids are catching it, and there are people above them that need to be held accountable. And I can understand him being upset and angry, but its a pretty low bar to expect Miami to beat FIU.

Gotta be the dumbest ******* response on the planet. Like that makes an ounce of difference.
Funny, because Hill didn't exactly say what he said to anyone's face, yet people think we are the ones that won't say something to his face. Weird, huh?

Good point here part of education for sure, maybe in the introduction to prior to entering college football the point of being on college team in a pro town needs to be driven home.

Playing on a allegedly power 5 team they should be warned, you want to be adults well a whole new world awaits.

Excellent points
