Trav's post-Spring position by position breakdown

If you have good depth at quarterback, that just means you don’t have a legitimate starter. It’s the one position (besides specials) that never subs unless the game is a blowout. If your backups have experience it’s because your starter sucks.

People make every excuse in the world to criticize Dawson

If a guy goes from a 3rd round NFL grade to the number 1 pick in the draft and you don’t credit the OC/QB staff then you are just refusing to acknowledge the facts
Went from will howard 1a and ward 1b, cam would be dumb to enter the draft and go day3 to oh ward was calling plays for dawson lol

Not sure why it’s controversial to some people to say Cam and Miami helped eachother

Thankfully it all happened because now the QB position has a lot of talent especially compared to where we used to be

Just tough to build QB depth with the way NIL and Portal are now I think we’ve done a really good job lately

Tough to build QB depth because the vast majority of QBs just don’t pan out, too. Hardest position in sports.

Totally agreed

I think going back to the point of the thread when I say I like what we are doing I don’t necessarily mean Mensah, Nickel, Coleman (although I really like all 3)

Having a QB depth chart right now that reads:

1. Top portal QB
2. Blue chip
3. Blue chip

Is pretty dang good

Sure ideally the backup would be someone with experience that could keep the team rolling if an injury occurs but how many teams have that anymore?

I'm trying to think of any.
