Travonte Valentine was NEVER coming to UM after all.

3 #LSU's true freshmen not here: WR Malachi Dupre (hamstring) DT Trey Lealaimatafao (arm) and DT Travonte Valentine (not qualified).

by when does he need to enroll in order to make it in?

LSU site

August 27 . . . Late registration ends; Deadline for applying for graduation; Final date to add courses/change sections; Deadline to complete "I" grade work from previous semester

You must be reading another calendar. According to LSU academic calendar, he has until next Thursday (9/4) to add classes.

Reading the LSU fan site, some one mentioned that TV is already on campus and is ok'd to practice but not play pending additional high school papers. Supposedly the SEC flap was an internal LSU paper work issue and not because of another school.

Sounds like he will make it into LSU. :monkey-serious:

Exactly, he's cleared by NCAA and LSU. He can take classes etc, but can't play until SEC clears his transcript after a complaint was filed by another school.

Then why is he reportedly still home in Hialeah?

Im sorry why tf do we still care about this guy? He's gone and wasn't going to make it in so lets get tf over it and actually talk about our players/future players that actually want to be Canes!

y'all it's just as easy to get into UM for football as it is any other big time school

Oh really? And you know this how? Somehow, your 11 posts and your name suggest you probably know next to nothing about UM football. As I've said on this board many times, I had heard months ago that it was not certain that he could get into the U, and that he had some requirements that he had to meet to get in.

Your use of the colloquial "y'all," only used in the deep south suggests you are not one of us, and know next to nothing about UM football or the university. I have seen many players over the years that ended up going somewhere other than UM because they could not meet UM's requirements.

It actually isnt

According to the sticky at the top of this recruiting forum reading "UM Academic Requirements & Recruiting Dates," UM requirements exceed those of the NCAA in that UM does not use a sliding scale whereas the NCAA does.

Compared to other requirements for non student athletes there is a scale, i believe it to be a 2.5 GPA if im not mistaken, thats not as horrible as some think the requirements for student athletes

A. If he doesn't enroll this semester, there can still be the chance he changes his mind and stays home. And this kid happens to change his mind often...
B. We need DTs and he's a beast of one with the attitude to match!

Once again people ! LSU cleared Ricky Jean-Francois so he could play for them. They'll bend their admission rules like a pretzel ..if it means getting him in.

Because if he's denied by SEC he can sign a new LOI at another school

This is the repeat story of Dillard High Schools 4* DT Charles Deas from 2006 who signed with LSU. LSU/Les Miles did the exact samething of getting him on campus and taking class in order to prevent him from switching to another school while they waited for him to be cleared by the NCAA. Need less to say Deas was only at LSU a few days, an Deas jumped from prep school, to JUCO, to eventually a small historical black college ( Shaw University).
