Transfer Portal watch

Any interest on our end? I haven't watched him play, but his stats are impressive and it sounds like WVU is surprised and upset at losing him.
Could be something....

He is from Clearwater, not your ideal size for a 4-3 DE (on the shorter side maybe a DT here? 6'2 270 on his WV bio, listed at 6'3 250 on his 247 profile) BUT was recruited by none other than Addae to WV.

Intrigued, not sure what he is here
though? Chess piece? Edge setting guy outside (which we desperately need as well), inside on passing downs? Has some good pass rushing production so could probably help us but we need more SIZE inside. We have all of these 3Ts and only two 0/1 types on the roster currently and 1 of them hasn’t played a down of CFB.

-The Miami Hurricanes have added four transfers on the defensive side of the ball since the season ended.

The staff is continuing to look for more additions.

Less than a week after picking up a transfer from UCLA's Mitchell Agude, a Second-Team All-Pac 12 defensive lineman, the staff has reached out to another standout in West Virginia defensive lineman Akheem Mesidor according to multiple sources.

Mesidor is coming off a season where he registered 38 tackles, eight for a loss and 4 1/2 sacks in 13 games, earning All-Big 12 honorable mention recognition by the coaches after being a Second Team selection as a true freshman in 2020. He recorded in 14 1/2 tackles for loss and 9 1/2 sacks in 23 games for West Virginia.

He has three years of eligibility remaining.

Mesidor is a native of Ottawa, Ontario who played at Clearwater (Fla). Academy International in high school. He was a three-star recruit in 2020 according to the 247Sports composite rankings.

The Hurricanes have also added USC defensive lineman Jake Lichtenstein who has already enrolled while Mesidor's former teammate cornerback Daryl Porter announced his decision to transfer to UM last month.

Miami completed its eighth spring practice on Thursday and will be back on the practice fields on Saturday.

This were my exact thoughts as well.
