Transfer Portal watch

Portal is as competitive as recruiting is.

Wild how 3 years ago it seems Miami has inside track on lot of portal guys, now we are getting beat out by lower 3rd SEC teams for portal targets.

Not saying we can't get our share, but for all the we will hit the portal talk hard, I'm sure the effort is hard, doesn't mean the results will be what we think.
It’s more competitive because the stock is thinner. It’s not like a recruiting cycle where most positions will have 20+ bluechippers. It’s only a couple guys at each position.

that is one area you have to give manny credit for ... he cornered the portal market early ... not others have caught up, as we've seen, a player or two can change the whole complexion of your team

At minimum we're going to be a multiple defense... Very likely switching to a 3-4. Just look at the type of DL Transfers we're offering

We just offered #44 from UAB Antonio Moultrie DL
Would love a Reeves/Clark player.

"Moultrie made an imposing physical transformation during the offseason, moving to the outside after spending his first two seasons playing the interior, and was one of the more dominating defensive players in C-USA this year. He amassed the third-most stops for UAB, collecting 62 tackles (7 for loss), two sacks and a fumble recovery, and was an honorable mention on the All-C-USA teams."

What's crazy was he was a All Conference Interior DL in 2020

Miller is the only guy on the team to play the nose here.None of the high school kids left seem to have the size to play there.
Nose isn’t your typical nose anymore though. You don’t need a massive dude to play it. If somebody is 6’2/6’3 305-310 then they can be a nose. They’re asked to be more athletic because of how multiple 3-4 Defenses have become. I fully expect Moten and Haye to be future noses here.
