Idk. Probably moreso in baseball because of the small schools still having good players. Not the same in football and to a slightly lesser extent in basketball.

I do know the kid went to Bearden HS which is 10-15 min from Lindsey Nelson Stadium and came up playing for the Diamond Simcox travel program (I’m an alum myself) ran by Larry Simcox who spent 20+ years as hitting coach in a few different stints at UT and his son AJ played at UT.

And Tennessee’s bullpen sucked lol

Catcher feels like DT to me...its the one position you will be hard pressed to find an absolute stud and not have to battle 25 schools for.

I like this option...hit .300 in the cape last summer too.


nice jump from Fr to Soph year offensively...get that again this year and you have a .300ish 7-10hr guy. Solid behind the plate from everything I can find too.
