Im not in the " staff ruined him" crowd. I do think he should have been utilized a little more to his capabilities/strengths. Wade Phillips has proven time and time again that you can have great success allowing players to use what theyre good at to get the jo done.

You know as well as I that football is very much so a mental game. Some players can get by with good brains,hardwork, and mediocre athleticism.

I feel like Tracy is one of those types.

Again I could be wrong, but I always got the vibe that you felt like he was an mediocre to average college CB that wouldn't sniff the NFL.

So we have put 4dbs(Gunter, burns, bush, Howard) in the NFL the last 2 years with most likely 2-3 more in corn elder and Rayshawn Jenkins. Carter and Colbert definitely have a chance with a strong season

He wasn't bad here, he just didn't play up to his ranking. He was still good/serviceable and it's not a surprise that he made an NFL roster.

It's not his fault that he was overrated. Whoever issues the stars/rankings shouldn't have had him so high IMO. I don't think he was ruined here, I just think he was ranked too high. He's a small Corner with big Corner's speed (skill set).

I didn't think he'd make a roster. I always viewed him as a small guy without the speed to make up for it. I didn't see a way around that. He was also a poor/unwilling tackler which I think is a problem for a defensive player without the skillset to be a primadonna star. I'm surprised he made a roster. Good for him. I don't see why it would be hard to admit that one was wrong on that. Even acknowledging the coaching deficiencies here, Howard did not seem to have the physical skillset to succeed up there in my view at least.

I don't think Chickillo and Howard should be mentioned in the same sentence. Chickillo was bashed by the fans here but was our best and most valuable DL for 3 years. He rarely came off the field and never complained absent some insinuations once he was gone. He basically got bashed here for no good reason. Howard wasn't nearly as good here and seemed to frequently be blaming others.

The only thing I disagree on regarding Howard is his willingness to tackle. His last 2 years I believe he became a much more physical and willing tackler. It was the stigma placed on him after his first 2 years when he was just a kid. The rest of it I'd have to agree on. I didn't think he had the skillset to be an NFL cover corner. I'm extremely happy for the kid that I was wrong. He was just a little overrated coming out of high school...not his fault.

1. QB's are hard to evaluate sometimes. They're always hit or miss.
2. Harrison was considered too short, but that's the ONLY thing he is. He has every other attribute you'd want.

Your point is valid but I think it's different with CB's. Howard has zero attributes that are coveted. He's not big, he's not long, he's not quick, he's not fast. He would need outstanding tape to warrant a pick and he apparently doesn't have that either.
