"Tough Team Meeting"

Its so obvious many of CIS porsters base their takes on their great personal experience with Madden. They expect a young team, after what happened last season (with 75 scholarships), and approached this season without a starting QB, installed a new system, with all new coaches, and the HC even saying there was still a disease to deal with; to come out of the box and be the 2001 Canes.

Bet the same fools think their girls are really having an ******, too.

This program has made mistakes in hiring, but to this point, there isn't enough of a body of work to judge this. There are some signs that are really positive, if you actually want to notice them. They're are going to be plenty of negatives, that happens too.

Manny articulated exactly how games like this happen, and they do every year. If you ever played real football (again from some of the dopey-*** **** posted here, it looks like a very few have on this fan site), you'd recognize the names for it: "Coming out Flat," "Trap Game," "Let Down Game," or in the NFL; "Any given Sunday." They don't only come after big tough wins, they happen after blowouts. And by the way, they happen to the Ohio States, Michigan's, Clemson's, and Bama's too.

Manny may be great, or may be a goat; but its a little early for all the Pitiful CIS Chicken Little's out there to proclaim the Sky is Falling. Step away from the key board and give it the season; See if he meets what the non-emotional (or hysterical) experts in Vegas called for : 7 wins. I realize a lot of you were offended by that 7 win statement, puffed up and said we were a 10 and 11 win team, but your unrealistic expectations just makes your perceived doom's day harder on you. Thank God you weren't calling the shots on December 8, 1941. Buck-up butter cups.
I get that you are probably exaggerating but most people expected the team to win the Coastal, not be a comp to 2001.

I love Manny. He's holding kids accountable and we'll see changes. He's not going to announce every change to the media.. but he's not going to allow that effort. Love it!!!

Keep preaching it, Manny!

Is this guy mr Diaz senior himself?

Manny says the right things hopefully he'll get it worked out.it's really not fair to say Manny isn't or is the guy.he's only had one off-season to straighten it out.no making excuses for Manny I don't like it how this team is playing.but I also know it'll take any decent coach at least 2-3 years to get this team where it can play/resemble a Miami team.yes folks it's that bad and has been for over a decade.we all better hope Manny can get it done or we will irrelevant for another 5 years.

You guys would crucify him if he said nothing and you'll crucify when he says the players didn't play well. Some simply want to beat their chests to prove they were the first to say Diaz sucks.
Yep. Im sure thats what they want, to still suck after 20 years, only so they can be right about a coach.

slip away from us? we haven't been championship material for more than a decade. **** slipped away a long time ago
Not true. Recruiting ticked up under Richt, so did wins for a season. Things looked like we were an OC away from regular Coastal champs. Then Richt decided not to change anything again, we went through his last season and he bailed. Had we hired Mike Gundy instead of Manny, we'd be having fun right now.

Yeah, Imma call bull chit on this. No, I was not in the team meeting, but if the team meeting was "tough" he wouldn't need to announce to the world it was tough. He would've answered something along the lines of "yeah, we definitely looked at some film, identified problem areas, and clearly we have some things we need to clean up, and the team know where we stand, and we'll use this bye to do as such, and prepare for ACC play."

I feel Manny has been trying to sell us for a while, and as other posters have stated, it's feeling more and more like Golden talk.

Lmao what?
We aren’t scoring any points, did he make Enos change the offense?
We aren’t getting any pressure on the QB, did he make Baker change his fronts up?
Baxa is missing every other FG, has he tried anybody else?
There is absolutely ZERO evidence Manny will make changes. He lied about what kind of offense and defense he would run and hasn’t changed it yet

He gave Enos the keys so it’s on him, he fixes it or Manny gets a new OC.
Turnovers hurt us more than anything else last year so that is the major focus.
Both Enos and JW can open it up but they are both coaching/playing conservative and relying on the D because of TOs.
I suspect we will see more running from JW with a few more deep shots but not many with this OL.

We have a top 15 D that is emphasizing stopping the run this year and it’s effective - this is what Manny wants.
We still get pressure but it’s not where it needs to be. I’m really hoping Nesta and B. Bold kick things up a notch.

Baxa is missing every other FG, has he tried anybody else?
We went for it on 4th when we might of kicked with a reliable guy.
We should go for it more and try a new guy for close range.

Manny has not lied, we’re just not as god as people think. There’s a lot of parity In college football now, not nearly as much separation in talent or performance which is witnessed every week. But this team is better than what we’ve seen.

I believe Manny is stressing the ‘playing through adversity’ mantra because he is trying to get rid of the ‘disease’ by making this team team stronger in it’s weakest areas. That’s the only way I can explain focusing on the run on D and playing power ball on O.
Miami is a much better finesse team but he wants this team to be better prepared for any and everything long term.

I’m not disagreeing with you, just having a discussion. This has been the best thread on here in a while.
But as a team, we’re just trying to learn how to win - we can’t dominate anybody.

Yeah, someone said Richt smooth talked, and Al fast talked. Manny is a fast talk guy.
