Tough and Physical

Once the credible threat of Dorsey in the run game was no more, it was all downhill for Coker
Larry Coker famously coached Barry sanders at Oklahoma State. I asked him to compare sanders and Dorsey’s running styles, and his exact words were, “how the **** did you get inside my house?”

Toney>x
Daniels=george
Marian=brown
Moore= Horton

Disagree on speed. Brown was the only burner and Marion has similar speed.
You got 1 out of 4.
1. Toney may end up being even better than Xavier, but right now he's not better than X as a SR.
4. No way this year's version of Moore is better than Horton was last year. He may get there but probably not this year.
3. While Brown was a bit of a disappointment, he was better than Marion, who thus far doesn't look like a WR (he's fast and a dangerous return man, but that doesn't always translate).
2. Daniels = George: I might give Daniels the edge thus far. George was pretty dynamic, but his stupid decisions could hurt you at key times.

I was speaking to speed/home run abilities, more so speed to this post:

Not just experience…Speed and home run ability

Gonna have to be even Tuffer and moar Fyzikal to keep our ACC Tuff & Fyzikal trophy after that GTech performance. I have faith in Coach!

Who could disagree?

The one weakness: WR speed. I could see some elite DBs containing us simply because we can’t blow the doors off them. Now maybe Marian can land a few and change my mind.

The other concern would be quality depth. Lowe could have played a role by the cfp. 16 games is a ton of football. We need to get serious about blowing teams out to save starters reps and getting back ups more.
Marion is definitely the guy to take the top off the defense. Would’ve done it against Notre Dame had the guy not tackled him but it did draw the pass interference so that’s good. I’d like to see that deep ball to Marion get going today.

I checked the stats on explosive plays: 36 from 2 games. Just off of last years average of 19.15/game which was good for second.

Ya but not really talking about entirely same thing…Different metrics define "explosive plays" in different ways

In 2024 we were tied for 2nd in the nation with 99 20+ yard gains. Tied for 6th in the nation with 38 30+ yard gains…Coming into today's game we had 8 20+ yard gains and 2 30+ yard gains…So that was nowhere near last year's pace. But of course it is early.

That being said there were definitely some big gains today, so I'm a happy camper. Big improvement from first two, but imo this still won't be quite the big gain offense as 2024. I may be wrong. But it can still be very good in that aspect if we see more of what we saw today, get Lyle back, and Josh Moore and Marion continue to shine. Not sure what to expect with Trader.
