Tosh Lupoi to Alabama

This guy took Dline recruits from Miami when he was at Washington, god only knows what he can add to the Bama staff as Dir of Player Personnel, since Bama is big on getting kids on campus for a visit, to add another closer like this is masterful of Saban working through Lane Kiffen.

Rumblings out of Alabama are that former Washington assistant coach Tosh Lupoi could be the Tide’s next director of player personnel.

Lupoi, UW’s defensive line coach the past two seasons, was to join Steve Sarkisian‘s staff at USC in December until a local high school coach, when confronted by the Los Angeles Times, said that Lupoi had paid $4,500 for a UW recruit’s tutoring. Lupoi, through his Twitter account, denied the allegations.

The NCAA investigated the allegations for six weeks but*did not penalize Lupoi or UW.

After Chris Petersen‘s hiring, UW reassigned Lupoi within the department.*In January, Lupoi and UW agreed to a $300,000 “mutual separation” buyout of his contract, which ran through the 2014 season.

Lupoi left his alma mater, Cal, to join Sarkisian’s staff at UW in January 2012. He had a reputation as one of the Pac-12′s top recruiters, and his*salary of $350,000 last year made him one of the conference’s 10 highest-paid assistant coaches.

The reporters are mostly Twitter chatter and message board fodder at this point, so we’ll continue to monitor any developments.

I guess their trying to open up their california window...

I mean sh*t Saban's staff on defense is pretty good...and right now bama is recruiting for itself......

Saban just loading up on guys now..lmao...

to bad hi so still will be avg as Kiffin is a bum...and i still dont like their skill position wr's other than Amari...They got rbs for days though, but i dont know if Kiffin is cool with ol Nick telling him were good with running the ball over and over and over and playing clock control.

nick said in a interview that he doesnt want to go to the spread and be that ground and pound but he sees that the game is evolving and he has to change things, that interview probably explains the kiffin hire, but im with you its going to be interesting to see how the mesh
 
I don't understand why he feels like just because other offenses are going to the spread he has to as well. Saban is just *****ing because his defenses aren't built to stop the spread. They're built to stop the pro-style, run-first offense that he and LSU runs.

He can adjust his defensive philosophy and still do what he wants to do on offense. He needs to stop whining so much.
 
Lol @ the people who said Bama wasn't going to be **** these next few years. They're going to annihilate the recruiting trail.
