Gino was the only candidate who I would say is likely to bring Diaz back for another year
Uhhh...no...
Gino was the only candidate who I would say is likely to bring Diaz back for another year
And the other half voted for a brain dead geriatric patient with dementiaThis. Half this board prolly voted for a celebrity to run the country and Gino can’t run Hecht?
Ruiz with the best takes so far today.
We'll see. I'd imagine that some of the other sports like baseball and basketball will have a clearer picture in terms of evaluation. It's clear as day that Coach L is past his prime and needs to retire; with DiMare as coach, that needs to get scrapped immediately. But identifying good candidates in sports that aren't football would likely be more difficult. It would have to be a perfect synergy between Zo and Gino for this thing to work...and even then, there will be learning lessons along the way.I’m not sure when Zo made a move to be an AD candidate of his own but I always felt like Gino as the face and fundraising with Zo over football would be a OK
Nice so technically Gino’s lack of collegiate administration makes him a viable fit?And every coach Miami has hired, had coaching experience. It didn’t hold up.
Gino and Alonzo.
Give a whole new meaning to the term....GinZo.![]()
For Miami yes. Which is the problem.Nice so technically Gino’s lack of collegiate administration makes him a viable fit?
I don’t get the Zo experience thing, maybe in regards to running football but in terms of administering an athletic department id take Gino’s business acumen and relationships inside college football. I live in Ohio, deal with the Browns and that Browns front office was a disaster. Only reason he came in the first place was a sweetheart deal from WolfWhy would Zo wanna play second fiddle to Gino, when Zo has infinitely more relevant experience?
Many on this board would fool themselves into thinking everything is okay but we would continue to be the laughing stock of CFB when it comes to our admin structure.
Not me. I had a bad experience there when I was about five years old. Inadvertently got into the extra hot sauce, set my mouth on fire, and was miserable for the next three hours.I LOVED TACO VIVA!!!
Good question!!!! Serious concerns. I love you Gino, but can I see your resume?Serious Question.... Is Gino qualified for AD? What has he done post playing?
You’re not looking at this the right way. Think USC. Gino is Pat Haden and Zo is Lynn Swann. Why would Zo wanna play second fiddle to Gino, when Zo has infinitely more relevant experience?
There’s more than the football program at stake with this hireWe don’t need an “experienced” AD… Great football hire time to fire Manny Diaz and hire Mario Cristobal.
If true, why Gino over Zo??? And Gino hasn’t Don’t anything in sports in 30 years.
Zo has a million contacts all over the NFL and CFB. This makes no sense!
Agreed! I think if either Gino or Zo are hired in any capacity, Manny is donezo. But, of course, he's already donezo anyway. But yeah, I don't know what AD hire would be someone who would bring back Manny, but neither Gino nor Zo would bring back Manny.Uhhh...no...
Which is probably why he was chosen (assuming this report is accurate). Manny Sr and the old guard won.Gino was the only candidate who I would say is likely to bring Diaz back for another year
