Iowa surprised me a little

Yeeeeeeah, this doesn’t surprise me. If u’re an honest fan of this program & watch CFB, u would know this. Even the guys who’ve been drafted, have not lasted.

Right now we only have 25 active players on a roster over a 7 yr draft period, & one of those 25 came from the 2008 draft! It’s been a humbling 17 yrs.

We stayed firmly on this list during the Shannon and Golden years. Richt’s classes are killing us here.
Yeah that’s partly because we still had some of the studs from the Butch/Coker years bolstering our NFL numbers. They were older, but a few of them still were playing. The younger cats declaring themselves for the draft too early, guys that we missed on, and ones that we recruited that proved not to be good enough, eventually caught up with us

Would be interesting to see the data — what % of each coach’s recruits end up on an nfl roster, what is the average career length, and what are the accolades (e.g. pro bowls).

Would be tough to measure because coaches should get some credit for development right?

Kam Kinchens and Leonard Taylor for example.

Does Manny get credit for both of them since they joined the team when he was here?

He recruited them so I consider those his players

Just further evidence we have fallen. Hoping we are on the rise again over the next few years and for years to come.

Iowa has a ton of NFL level offensive linemen yet they still suck and can’t score points. Hmmm…
