One of the nation's top safeties in the 2027 recruiting class has locked in an official visit to Miami next month.
According to @EliteSportsManagement on Twitter, Ta'Shawn Poole locked in five visits: Clemson (May 29th), Tennessee (June 6th), Florida State (June 12), Miami (June 19th), and Georgia (June 23).
According to the 247Sports Recruiting Rankings, he is currently ranked as the No. 59 player in the 2027 class, No. 5 safety, and No. 5 player out of the Peach State.
Poole, is a 6-foot-2, 185-pound safety out of Macon, Georgia, where he plays high school football at Howard High School has over 30 total offers to his name including Clemson, Tennessee, Florida State, Alabama, Miami, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan, Mississippi State, Missouri, NC State, Nebraska, among others.
This past season with the Huskies he racked up a total of 43 tackles, two pass breakups, and four interceptions. He was invited to the Under-Armour All-American game.
Poole has already visited Alabama (3x), Georgia (2x), Georgia Tech (2x), Clemson (2x), Tennessee, and Florida State. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, the Clemson Tigers currently hold the advantage to land Poole; However, Tennessee has been a big factor in his recruitment, but wants to explore other options before he makes his decision.
Miami currently holds the 4th best class in the 2027 recruiting cycle. The Hurricanes have accomplished a total of 15 commits in the class highlighted by three five-star commits: Donte Wright, Nick Lennear, and Israel Abrams. Adding a player like Poole will give the Hurricanes their second safety commit in the class, joining four-star Jaylyn Jones.
