Apparently it is tampering if it is explicitly related to a possible transfer -- "under current NCAA rules, agents and other representatives (like family, advisors, or NIL agents) are prohibited from contacting other NCAA programs on behalf of their student-athlete clients about transfer opportunities before the athlete has formally entered the transfer portal"

I'm no fan of this era of college football with this transfer portal business (OK with NIL compensation though).
But the one thing I like this era is that NCAA is no longer feared as a weapon to be used on schools.
These days, if they start trying to investigate, you can tell them to pound sand and, if the UM, I will hire private investigators to investigate the investigators so it can be spread all over social media.

Ok, Uncle Johnny reached out to an analyst, booster or former player & says my nephew plans to enter the portal. Would you be interested & potential for NIL deal? Good luck policing or enforcing the policy.

I think Miami needs to start suing people for slander… the reality is schools still don’t pay players, NILs do and every player has an agent. An NIL program contacting and agent is not tampering and it’s now how all this stuff is done. So just saying a school is tampering is not only stupid it’s a straight up lie.
