Toney vs Santana?

Toney is a better route runner and I think has a better understanding of where to be in space. Moss was pure athleticism and burst.
Different eras and offenses.. I dont think people realize the tools these kids have, they literally have multiple private personal coaches to refine their game, can record each session, go on youtube and watch whatever WR they want training session and see how they train, DM others for tips, etc.

Santana in wide open spread era would be soo dominant. Dude played in a i formation offense. He did have Curtis Johnson as WR coach, one of the goat detailed oriented teachers of the position.

Santana wasn’t even in the same stratosphere as Toney as a freshman.

Malachi is much more polished and a far better football player as a first year player.

We’ll see where he goes from here.
I was just about to post this until I saw you did. Toney is special, plain and simple. His natural instincts and football awareness are off the charts.

Santana was elite with straight line speed and a had a solid spin move. His deep ball ability was phenomenal for his height. Great body control.

Toney can run routes as good as anyone and has a quickness similar to Tyreek. Santana and Toney are different players despite their measurables.

Baby Jesus is not an all american sprinter. I'd say the Antonio Brown comparison is more accurate.

Baby Jesus to me is a unique player, and we probably should stop trying to compare him. He's already his own legend!
Agreed

Just running and catching the ball is something a lot of WRs can do. I’m just shocked at how advanced he is in every facet of the game

And add to it he’s been doing it against tough tough competition from Day 1

Fast forward two years… does Toney surpass our famed, beloved Santana Moss? Both undersized, explosive, phenomenal route runners.

Curios on your thoughts!

I can’t remember an impact of a freshman WR since maybe Ahmonn but even Toney seems further along than him.

AR seriously was an uber athletic WR who ran great routes…. Toney while still athletic I think he’s best trait besides competitiveness and drive is he flat out knows ball. It’s consistently shown he just knows where to sit himself in a zone and show his numbers for Beck to put a ball on him for a 1st down.,.

You can be randy moss out there but if you are running yourself with 4.3 speed into coverage it’s pointless… he sees what the defense is doing and is putting himself in position for both he and the offense to succeed.

Oh and he’s an athlete with moves… ask little

Favorite part about Moss was his spitting mad attitude toward and team thinking they could stop him.

Santa was a world class athlete, completely in a different athletic class of human. Toney is nice but this is not the comp.

He has absurd balance and body control - really, really stands out from the get go.

The NFL will love him - even if he runs a 4.6.
A 3rd round pick gets about $6M over 4 years. Jeremiah Smith may get $6M next year. A 4th year Toney demolishes defenses....

Bc it’s a bye week and we ain’t got **** else to do!

Malachi has speed as shown last week. Santana ran great routes. Wasn’t just a straight line burner
