Tom Herman

If Chip Kelly is available you do anything in your power to get him here.

We'd be in the playoffs by year 2.

If you can't get him, then you look at a Herman or Fuente.

We're winning the National Championship next year if Chip Kelly is the coach here.

Recruiting would go absolutely bonkers down the stretch and he would step into a Junior QB on every National Pre-season list

He's done more with less than what he'd have at Miami next season.

chip needs a dual threat, brad wouldnt complete chips offense. it would be missing a huge part of what chip does. i wouldnt mind chip but give me butch all day

Have you watched his NFL teams? He really doesn't need a dual threat.

uhhhh yea i seen his team in the nfl they suck. everytime he went up against a butch davis sec type physical dline he gets mauled. im about titles thats it, the Offense is coo but what will that do against an elite front 7? considering butch will go ham on the trail which is guranteed....give me a game manager like Dorsey and a four headed backfield of pro bowlers/elite college rbs (what bama does). n a nasty fast loaded swarming defense n we winning period. we would bring trophies to that trophy room, everyone says win n they will come....its bullshyt. mcelwain first year n dude snatching guys up, richt never wins n lands top classes. that wiining **** is bullshyt its either u can recruit or u cant. ag cant recruit he cant protect home turf just like coke n shannon, good guys cant win at miami.

im telling u butch is guranteed to win, clock control beast mode like bama n harbaugh. it kills teams that run the spread, i love that physical style n every bcs title team had physical defense with monster dlines. cmon man u guys watch da fkin games i hope. this isnt the nfl man

Richt never wins? Maybe he hasn't won a NC but the last time I checked Georgia averages between 10-12 wins a season.

Chip has never had access to monsters like Chad Thomas or Moten or Gerald freaking Willia or Kendrick Norton. With the proper seasoning and experience, those players could be dominant in the near future, though due to their current circumstance, I don't believe they are performing to the extent of their abilities. I believe that Chip would hire what is necessary to make those guys great.

i just domt trust no ome round our program, i need gurantees. butch does everything well, its a shame people forget what he did. chip never coached defense well, it b like dorito still here and thats not miami at all. we need our identity bak

You are arguing with another dude who seems to feel that our issue is recruiting......despite having the 2nd most players in the NFL, we have people here who think Miami needs some used car salesman.

No disrespect. The standard is championships here. 10-12 wins ain't really what the ultimate goal is and Mark Richt ain't never sniffed a ring

Sorry guys, we are not winning a bidding war with Texas for Chip Kelly. The only chance we get at him is if no big schools fire coaches this year and Strong has screwed that up

Well obviously if they fire him after 2 years we are screwed.

But I'm not so sure they fire him. That's why it would be critical for him to start doing a little better.

Other than UT what school is going to be in the running for a HC? I can't think of any major program that would be looking.

If Chip Kelly has any interest at all you throw the kitchen sink at him to get him here. He would be one of the few guys out there who would give us an instant turnaround. We'd be in the playoff mix right away.

If you can't get Chip, then Herman is on that next level with a couple others. He's a great prospect, and his results as an offensive coach speak for themselves. Just look at what's happened to the Ohio Taint offense after he left. They look like a disjointed mess now. Last year, they were humming on all cylinders.

He's doing a phenomenal job with Houston's offense too. Greg Ward would be in the Heisman mix if he played at a Power 5 program.

His players are arguing with each other on Twitter the week they play #10 Oklahoma. It's getting bad and he might not survive the weekend.

would love to throw the kitchen sink at kelly and

if he continues with a subpar year and he and the ravens decide 8 years is enough then consider throwing the house at.....john harbaugh

love herman too. been touting him for our HC since he was an OC at *.

Actual quote from chip.
"Show me what type of QB I have and I'll tell you what offense I run"

Herman should be our top candidate. He's already turned Greg Ward Jr into a heisman candidate

So you would rather a 40 year old rookie HC who has coached exactly 4 games total over Chip Kelly?

I see Chip Kelly as a pipe dream for us but if it really was on the table then of course you take Kelly. Herman is really a realistic option and he's a **** good one can't be mad if thats the guy we go after..

Kaaya does have a bit of Nick Foles in his style. That said, he also has a some Andy Dalton in his release/mechanics.

Ironic that he just traded away Nick Foles

He's an excellent option. But if Kelly is out there and Texas is stupid enough to retain Strong, you unquestionably do everything in your power to get Chip. It would be completely unfair. Dude has a lot of Dennis in him. Get him his very own Lubick and its OVER.

Tom Herman is my top choice assuming the admin wouldn't be willing to spend the money needed to attract Chip. The style of play he's implemented at Houston is a match made in heaven for Miami. Watched their game against Tulsa on Saturday and came away very impressed. Interested to see him coaching again in primetime this Thursday against Chad Morris' SMU squad.

Posted in the coaching candidates thread about the statistical impact he's had not only at Houston, but also at Ohio State. They've regressed badly without him, especially those QBs who performed so well last year under Herman's tutelage.
